Not the exact model, but this brought back memories of videotaping our high school soccer games. For some reason I preferred to balance it on my shoulder rather than use a tripod, and was actually able to even do slow pans incredibly smoothly.
Full size VHS camcorders are indeed bulletproof. I find them unnecessarily bulky in my opinion, but at least I have been able to service my JVC VideoMovie GF-500 and replace some of its ~30 smd capacitors on the Imaging boards (especially the CCD sensor board and the integrated Dc-dc board). Shame that the proprietary "universal" 8-pin AV cables of the era are unobtanium nowadays.
I still have a working PV-420D, but all I use it for is for rewinding tapes back beyond the clear plastic leader that the newer VCR don't seem to do. Handy when dubbing home movies from VHS and recording to the Phillips DVD-R. Wish I could record 2 hours in the quality of the 1 hour record time of the DVD media however. Maybe my Roxio VHS capture for the PC computer is better?
Awesome. I'll have to get mine out. I almost got rid of it but it is complete with case and everything. Memories go with it too. Fortunately those memories aren't on tape. 😅
I actually have a fairly similar one at home, and I suspect loose/dirty connections. But have you ever experienced one of these where the video feed is really dark, and you can only see something if you point directly at a light source? Basically all I'm seeing are 'Orbs' where the hottest light source is. (Not the sun, to clarify. Just some LED bulbs). I'm hoping this isn't a sign of sensor damage, because I've been putting alot of time into fixing mechanical issues.
I would say it probably has something to do with the Capacitors in the CCD circut. I had a Vhs-c camcorder with bad Capacitors that showed similar problems
Hey what is your opinion on the quality of those abundant mid 2000s Funai manufactured sets (the ones branded under famous American brands but made in China) ? Are they as low quality as I hear?
When we were duplicating thousands of give away product demo tapes we used a bank of funai recorders. They outperformed the Panasonic and JVC machines in the dinning chain. My business partner replaced every Panasonic and jvc deck with funai as they failed.
Hey dave i am lucky if u hear me out i have two m7 when power on its all red light on and other one power on and instant power gose off and other three Panasonic m3000 and 9000 all not power on power supply ok but won’t on camera even cant on in batter my question is what must i check in camera power supply or bord?
Looks like a Panasonic m5 which were very good in there day but when the ms series came out they really helped the wedding guys earn there money. It looked like you had a proper camera and you could charge more than the camera person with a handycam
all of a sudden i'm thrown back in "the WAYBACK MACHINE" pulled out three old full size camcorders RCA, SHARP, and MAGNAVOX which runs but won't record I have a bunch of tapes recorded on once with tab still attached picked up a bunch of vcrs 10 years ago are there any techs that still work on these camcorders ?
Home cameras no, broadcast cameras like my betacam is a totally different story. On those the 2nd anode is about 15kv which is very high for a 1.5" tube. A few guys i interned with that went into broadcast careers ended up with brain tumors and died before seeing 40. Broadcast gear didn't need to be certified like consumer.
I've got the exact same model but branded as a magnavox. The vtr is perfect but the camera portion is bad unfortunately. I hope i get it working someday. I've heard these are tough as nails
Hello. How did you make out from the hurricane that went up that way I hope you did OK! We are dealing with ours now I'm sure you know Ian is riding our east coast very powerful thing! Well just wanted to touch base!
Considering the hurricane went up the right coast and i am on the left coast (both politically and physically) the day was sunny and warm. It's the typhoons that we have to worry about. Those are the ones that form in the Pacific ocean.
I had a 1990 Magnavox as my first camcorder. Took a loan out for it, first loan I had for anything! Retailed for $1500 but was on sale for $1000. I used the hell out of it!
i have one similar to this and the batteries i buy for it dont last very long, i always keep them charged and never let them die. i wish i could make a better battery for it. i want to film family events with it.
@@Dr.-Smart hello my dear friends i have Panasonic nv-m3000 and Hitachi 500e both have same problem when i power of loading motor automatically run for some for seconds then gose off when i press eject again n again its tun and then off what was the problem
