This video is about 350 Crusader Engine Pull- Starboard Engine. I admit to how this engine was damaged through my attempt to maintain it. It is tale of caution for those who are about to clean their raw water/heat exchanger system in their boat. This is a common practice for salt water boats. My thought was that since this boat was a salt water boat for most of its life, I felt it may be worth doing. How wrong I was.

Thanks as I just took on maintaining a 350 Crusader .. good advice honest story. Im a mechanic and trust me ^^$&$#^ happens. Keep on truckin and keep it real!

Thanks for the support - I’m about to post a few updates. The engine is about to go back in- hopefully end of this month. I’ll film that process and get that posted as well. Cheers!

my boat was running rough, 5.7 mercruiser, replaced water pump, alternator, power steering pump, plugs wires & distributor, then replaced the quadrajet carb w a 600 cfm edelbrock only to pull the valve covers & see I lost the exhaust push rod on the number three cylinder. All this time I just needed to reinstall the hydraulic lifter & push rod

@@Junkyardnedreck two questions: 1 how do you like your new carbs compared to the quads? 2. Education is a beautiful thing! I spun the crank tonight ensuring that the lifters are clocking correctly- 3 are not so going to re-apply moly and reinstall them to get them all spinning before the intake goes back on. Glad you found the problem.

@@tukkayak well, I’ve only run it one time since I put the new carb on, & it came pre-set, although it seems to idle a little high, it definitely runs better than the old junk quad….. however I’ve yet to run it on all 8 cylinders so I’ll let u know after I get the lifter, push rod & rocker arm installed…….

@@Junkyardnedreck very cool! I am very familiar with that carb. We had it on our Tige and it performed beautifully- easy rebuild wit fantastic company support.
