What should we stop saying to autistic people? Saying everyone is autistic invalidates the autistic experience while also makes it difficult for us to get the necessary support. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg in terms of everyday common invalidating phrases we hear all the time.
A little while ago, I asked the autistic community what are the things that NTs should stop saying to autistic people. In this video, I divided the responses into five categories (invalidating, dismissive, condescending, intolerant, and outright accusatory.)
