Did you use a 5A added fuse? What did you do with the extra cables aside from the black and red?

What fuse tap and fuses did you use

Nice video! I have the exact same setup on my 2010 370z. I always documented oil pressure at 180F for consistency. With AC off, I have 24 psi at idle and 60 psi at 2k rpm. I just had my oil gallery gaskets done and they were fully intact, so I think any pressure close to what I had is a good sign. I’m also in metro Detroit so hopefully I’ll catch you at Waterford Hills sometime!

Do you have an oil cooler? I'm seeing about 18-22 at idle. Probably doing my gaskets this winter and just crossing my fingers it's good until then

@@pattyboi yeah I’ve got a 34 row. It also varies with what kind of oil you’re running. I was running mobil1 5w-30 with those pressures. I’d see 19 psi at like 200-220F idle so I think you’ll be alright. Where people run into trouble is when their idle drops below 14psi

I just wanted to add some data here for you since I’m a long time Z owner. The FSM spec for oil pressure is 14psi or 1bar at 180F idling. Arguably that’s very low but anything in well in the 20s is good. Of course it will drop when the temps get higher. I’ve got 154k on mine and it idles at around 25-27 PSI with a 34 row oil cooler. Unfortunately I am FAR from your area but feel free to dm me if you have any questions about the platform.

@@pattyboi Keep in mind that replacing the gallery gaskets won't completely fix the issue, you also have to address the fact that the OEM hardware will back out over time. EPS Tuning offers a full replacement kit with aftermarket hardware to prevent this.

Did you get an oil light at all? The fitting adaptor replaces the OEM sensor it looks like unless I’m wrong.
@pattyboi
@pattyboi 21 день назад
No oil light, you'll need to keep the stock sensor plugged in though - without it plugged in and measuring then it probably will throw a light

I went with the bourgeoisie route and bought a Tesla Screen. I'm gonna use Ecutek's monitors for guages. Not like I'm going to need them when driving normally. Only need to see them when being an idiot or on startup.
@masterAilan777
@masterAilan777 24 дня назад
From Ecutek -> The 370Z does not have an oil pressure sensor as standard. To add an input for oil pressure, sensors must be set up in the custom sensors section. To trip the oil pressure limp mode, the measured pressure needs to drop below Oil Pressure Minimum for at least Oil Pressure Timeout.

Great video! I'm currently filming my 370z oil pressure gauge installation right now, and I've realized that you had a few sections of your video that explain things better than I did. Could I use a screen recording of a section or two and credit you in my video?
@pattyboi

Sure, thank you for asking

Patty, did you torque the T fitting to the oil pressure sensor? I don't want to risk over/undertightening it.
@pattyboi
@pattyboi Месяц назад
I did not, honestly I fully believe with that stuff to not over crank and just check for leaks. Much easier to tighten and fix a small leak than crack the sensor or even worse, the block or pan
@andrewmarquez542
@andrewmarquez542 Месяц назад
Probably won’t get a response but could you explain the added fuse process? Or give a more in depth explanation
@pattyboi
@pattyboi Месяц назад
Yeah an add a fuse basically just add another fuse using a slot in the stock fuse box. It just allows power to be cleanly sent instead of having to route something via the car battery

I had some questions about the T fitting, so I dm’d you on instagram!
