Follow my on IG: @Saul_Nismo_Knights This 370z was originally tuned on dual exhaust, then switched to single. Watch the video to see the outcome of what happens when you switch.
Not really true. If it has factory duals, and you swap to a single then you'll gain a lot more, and you've only spent the money once. If you're swapping from a aftermarket dual to a single then sure the hp to $ ratio isn't super great, but that is the name of the NA game lol. It would make more since if you've had aftermarket duals installed that you're later changing to a single if you're throwing on a turbo.
@@matveiorsak9994 hello? your comment is irrelivent. the practical argument choices are dual= more power. single=less weight. if you ask me it literally comes down to preference of exhaust note and looks
@@jennifertaber9827 "Hello?" I believe the word you were looking for is "irrelevant." The comment (and video) is comparing single vs dual exhausts and how they effect HP. Which is what my entire comment is about. Therefore, it is relevant. Your comment on the other hand, is a perfect example of a comment that is "irrelevant," as my comment, the OP, and video does not pertain to "exhaust note," and "looks."
What kind of duals did the owner switch from? Factory or aftermarket. I had a Tomei single and switched to AAM competition R line 3 inch true duals and picked up about 10 hp over the single, on uprev
Tomei Exhaust= Sounds like a trombone and has worse power than stock LOL. Its an interesting video, but the choice of exhaust was probably not a good idea. I think that the tuning on the stock exhaust would have yielded more gains personally
SO what size of duals was switched out for what size of single pipes? I assume both were all mandrel bent with no restrictions anywhere in systems? i assume there no cut and dried answer as to which is better single vs dual as it depends on how you use your car most, daily driver under 3000 rpm or mostly racing above 3000 rpm. its also gonna depend on size choices for those pipes. a smaller diameter dual or single setup might have more TQ under 3000 and negate having to shift a standard as much to keep in powerband.
Good to know. I'll stay with my dual setup instead, made 307 HP with a X-Pipe. But what I've heard which I have not seen any data on is that single exhaust increases the torque. If it does (magically) it would be by a negligible amount.
I'm assuming that the type of exhaust has more to do with it than whether its single or dual, like if he was running an ark exbuast vs a motordyne or fast intensions or do singles just tend to make more power?
I mean its very very hard to say, i say this because maybe he was running better fuel today, or whatever with that small of a change its kinda hard to see what was the cause (in this specific scenario)
@@michaeldeleon5960 I have been researching about this man. The conclusion is- a 3' single exit is perfect because a 3' dual exhaust like greddy evo gt or motordyne will allow more cold air inside the exhaust and that creates an slower release of fumes. Less scavaging effect! Small piping with no restriction is the key to release hot fumes quickly. Never go bigger than 2.5' in a dual exhaust.
