HOW IMPORTANT Is a Good Exhaust For Your Nissan 370Z or Infiniti G37? 

Keep these videos up I love seeing gains from all the different bolt ons

I just had a Fast Intentions TDX exhaust and a Stillen Gen 3 CAI installed on my Z and then had it dyno tuned by an EcuTek master tuner. He dialed in the fuel and timing over 8 pulls on a Dynojet dyno and I came up with 321 rwhp(peak) @ 7200 rpm and a pretty uniform 15% gain in torque over the whole rev range. The exhaust sounds very good with no rasp and so I'm very pleased with it. I think it was the best money I've ever spent on the Z and well worth it. Just get quality hardware and have it done by a competent and experienced person; it's worth the extra money if you care for your car.

If you're in Australia, I'd recommend for a conservative option the X-force CBE. Strong power gains and it makes the car sound excellent (more like an RB/inline-6 ) and not excessively loud etc. Together with a long tube intake it irons out a lot of the power dips and throttle response issues too. Still to get a proper tune however.

I installed an Nvidia catback exhaust… I know it doesn’t put out more power than tomei but I just didn’t want all that noise.. I’m old now… back in the day tomei all the way!

So I got tuned by Saul here in SoCal, Mod List- Stillen Gen 3 Intakes, Motordyne Art pipes, Tomei CBE. I also got the “flame map” for a whopping $1100 only gained 10whp. Did I get robbed? 🤔

Is and isr single catback exhaust any good for whp gains for a Nissan 370Z ?

Only 8ft lbs. =( Here is my current setup on my 2013 G37x Sedan. Z1 Motorsports Intakes, Kinetix HFC's, and a Custom exhaust. 2.5" to a resonated x-pipe, then 2.25" to 2x resonators, then out the back. Would it be worth it to tune now, or wait until i get more stuff done. I plan on supercharging at the end of next year, but wouldnt mind getting it tuned the way it sits now. Any improvements you can suggest?

So a catback is really a y back? I thought a catback would bolt up to the cats or test pipes (or in this case, the long tube headers)

Agree exhaust is important, but is there any way to get a nice dual exhaust which still sounds good (Nismo) and is somewhat quiet (resonated) ??? In other words, how do I avoid the ricey rasp? lol

I was curious if 370Z's have flash counters so the dealer can detect if the ECU has been flashed. I would like to do exhaust, intake, tune, etc. But I don't want to void my warranty at 3k miles on my 2020 Z.

Sincere question from an old fart who enjoys a fast fun car: can one install a new exhaust system on a Z to improve the HP and Torque that is NOT crazy loud? I would love to do all these things to my Z, but I would prefer not to wake the dead. Ahem, I am NOT opposed to anybody's loud exhaust.

Ah..just so the "rest" of you guys..you all know, The ONLY thing a "TUNE" does, is trick the cpu into thinking that you have your climate control on, Thus allowing more intake and exhaust flows caps with , acceptable negatives, on certain atmospheric conditions, as well as incorrect load imposing positives. Meaning well, you have your A/C compressor running and its a heavy humid day, And your cpu can, will, and does make engine adjustments. Basically you dont need a bullshit "tune" I had one put on my 2015 370z, called Ecutek, And it seriously fouled up the V.V.E.L. And then had it effectively removed. All these "tunes" do is effectively create a: Lie. Telling your control system to impose more air/fuel, to intake and exhaust values, That certainly very from day to day, or even hour from hour, Meaning Guys, You can have your car run awesome in the cool of the morning, only to have it run a little less effectively in the late afternoon. Tuning your car, by these exorbitant speed shops that do nothing but make them richer and you poorer, and only tricks you car (s) cpu into relying wrong information, giving false performance adjustment's that will result in a catastrophic failure. Will only result in false information and will definitely cause future issues in performance values.
