I recently lost my mother, and seeing you speak so openly about your grief has helped me to face my own this holiday season. May your heart stay strong in this difficult season, and may 2023 bring you amazing things.

My Mom, who is of Polish descent, used to make cabbage rolls from scratch. They were delicious! Of course, everything my Mom makes is the tastiest thing you've ever had. We didn't have the latest and greatest of things, but we had loving parents who sacrificed a lot for us kids and great tasting meals are a big part of fond memories of growing up

You can camp comfortably in very cold temperatures using regular cheap tents, if you use multiple tents inside of each other. I placed a 3-man tent inside of a 5-man tent inside of an 8-man tent. The multiple tent shells around you help insulate a lot. Outer tent stops wind, inner airspace between tents helps retain body heat too.

"I like to fry up some garlic and onions and then decide what's for dinner" I've heard this exact sentiment almost verbatim from a friend of mine in Alaska: "Fry up some garlic and onions, then figure out what's for dinner." A great way to start any camp meal.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this channel it’s that everyone needs a crazy neighbor. I really hope you guys do another float video when the weather is better. Nothing gets the adventurer inside me going like watching you two on a Tom and Huckleberry trip down the river!

Hey Steve been watching your videos forever and it broke my heart about your wife..that I actually had to stop watching for a while. My mom passed away in her sleep February 27 of 21. It was out of nowhere, I found her passed away in bed. Luckily she just looked like she was still sleeping. It just breaks me man that you had to go through that. My mom was 69 and her birthday was just a few weeks before, I'm 42 and was at her house because was laid off because of covid. She had a enlarged heart that she never saw a doctor for. I just want to tell you. That in time things will somewhat get normal but you will always miss that loved one. The first year when you look back will be a blur. I'm on my 2nd year and still thinking of her everyday and what she said the night before. Stay strong bud. Holidays are always the hardest.

We lost our only son last year and you thankfully remind us that life does indeed go on... Thank you Steve and Glen for the miles of smiles you bring to so many of us who desperately need a reason to get up in the morning. Brightest blessings to you both, and may the kindness you share be returned to you ten-fold! ❣🎄🍻💕

Your a inspiration to me and gave me courage to camp again

We went up into the Eastern Sierra for opening day trout fishing when I was a kid.... the dishcloth froze inside the trailer, and the water froze on the fishing line as we reeled in. After three days my mother was over ice cold wind whistling up under her in the pit toilet and we decamped for home. It started snowing on the road out. The people we were with were snowed in for five days. Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves!

I do tedious, repetitive computer work. Just leaving you channel on in the background, and checking in on my coffee brakes makes my day. Steve, your content is perfect. I feel it's obvious you are not pretending to be other than yourself. Charmingly polite, which no one can fake. A testament of your character is also your Crazy Neighbour. Such a nice guy would not be friends with a bad dude.

Extreme temperatures, the coziness inside and perfect meal. This one is one of my favorite video. 👍👍👍

Great stuff! You two are made of "the right stuff!!" Reminds me of my -40 degree, solo campout on the military base at Petawawa, Ontario. It was in the early '70s, and I was a junior pilot (Lieutenant) and tasked with field testing a military tent (called a 160 pounder, with an insulating liner inside) along with a "Yukon stove" - a kerosene drip, rectangular box, exterior located tank. There was a fireproof ceiling outlet for the stove pipe, The tent would normally sleep six, or eight if needed; but it was just me for one night. The thing about the Yukon stove is, once you get the drip rate "just right" the whole stove would pulsate like a small steam engine! Overall, it was too warm to leave it like that all night; but it kept me alive and I was able to recommend the set-up to the Squadron for winter deployments. Fortunately, we seldom had to deploy in the tents at that temperature; the seals in our helicopters plus their nic-cad batteries kept us from further "testing our limits" very often.

"I'm used to a little noise to help me sleep." It seems like such a random comment, but hits hard. Stay strong Steve! I'm glad to see you back, and that you still have crazy neighbors to keep you company.

I love this channel more than any of the other outdoor ones. Steve is so real and doesn't have all the gear that is out of my budget. He's doing it like all of us would. A great example is that second shovel they have to clear snow.....I use that for moving dirt all summer long and shovelling in the winter. I also love the cooking from the Mr. Heater, so cool.
