what a great package! I really like that old yale, looking forward to seeing you pick that one. Not that they're at all a challenge but I seem to be accumulating a lot of yale pad locks lately for some reason.
The smaller square American Lock is what I've seen used in every petro chemical/oil refinery plant I've worked in to lock out/safe out dangerous equipment so tradesmen can safely work inside or around the equipment, so im guessing it was cut off because a worker forgot to take it off before he went home. FYI the equipment is so dangerous that often the worker that has left the lock on has to go back to the job to get the lock off in person or in some cases is terminated. Thankyou for another very professional presentation
I think I would pass out if I got a haul like that ha ha. Very very nice, it sucks having picked all the locks in my house and all the doors, seeing this just makes my mouth water lol.
Ebay is your friend! That's where most of my locks come from. Once you have a few built up, reach out to the folks on one of the picking forums and see if you can arrange a trade.
LockPickingLawyer I am currently looking at and bidding on a few joblots, so I'm just hopeing the bidding doesn't go too high. I never considered once I build up a collection of a few to do some trading so that's a great tip thank you.
Very nice picking man! Superb for sure, I really like how you verbalize which pin you are on and such, it makes it even more interesting to watch. Lock lab hooked you up big time, can't wait to see them all on your channel!
I can't wait to start picking dimple locks! Banggood is having troubles getting those tension wrenches and picks to me in Canada. Shipped twice but nothing yet.
Why don't/can't manufacturers put a finish on the internals that simulates the weathering effect locks go through that makes them a difficult pick? I've used older oxidized parts in practice locks and accidentally turned them in to challenge locks.
I'm totally jealous of that wonderful haul of locks! Someday, I hope I can convince someone to send me a bunch of locks, so I can learn on them and pass them along. Is there some kind of network of pickers that send each other locks? I'd love to get in on that if there is such a thing.
Great video and good point about those Americans become extremely difficult to pick when they are old and weathered. I just got one almost identical to that big old school American 700 and it's been giving me hell. Pretty sure it only has 4 pins! Either that or one pin is permanently stuck. Any tips for approaching these old locks? Tried lubricating mine but no luck so far
Are you sure the lock works? Sometime they have frozen pins and can no longer be opened. I have a bucket of Kroil that I will soak locks in if I suspect something like that.
264 profile I think of MTL you want to pick with black interactive pin ( lowest pin ) . Grandfather of MTL. I do test of my information before your gut of this cylinder Master;)
I was hoping you could help me out. I have just started picking and have "mastered" MasterLocks and the Kwikset door locks and deadbolts to my house. Whats the next step up of locks to pick? Do I move on to dimple locks or get something else? Any suggestions?
the thing i don't understand about interactive locks is "what is the purpose of the interactive pin on the key and what does make it special?" any help is appreciated
Hey guys, I have a question: I just ordered some SouthOrd picks, which havent yet arrived and Im making a case for them. Can someone tll me the overall length of their Standard picks? Thanks!
