Stephen Cresswell it's pretty much the standard in the locksport community. Cuts in the video raise suspicion as to validity. As for music, I agree. Nobody wants a soundtrack. But if there is an intro with music it doesn't bother me.
Wow! Thank you VERY much. I recently bought one at a locksmith auction, sadly no key. I will definitely bookmark this for reference as I am new to picking, even more so with dimples. Not to mention pin-in-pin. Thanks again.
Couldn't tell you why but I find the videos on the channel oddly calming. I know nothing about lockpicking but for some reason I find these extremely enjoyable to watch
Man you are one of the few people who can freaking pick on one these cores! Nicely done! Can only imagine if a MT5+ tech and Medeco3 tech combined...see if you can pick that. Or a MedecoXT?
Could you possibly do a video on every kind of pin I'm interested in all the different kinds of key and driver pins, and the techniques to counteract them, thanks.
I wish you would explain what passive pins are. You have plenty of opportunity but it's a complete mystery as to how they work what they do. Love your videos
I know its a bit late for that but you should read this document: www.lockpickingforensics.com/articles/mul_t_lock.pdf - Page 15 explains the passive pins.
i'm a big fan, you the man! i keep watching you pick multi locks, hoping to collect crumbs that might help me get through my first dimple (multi lock junior). i'd so appreciate a reply to this: you say "pin one feels set". then you say "pin 3 is definitely binding. i'm pushing pretty hard on him and he's not moving". would it be possible to explain how you make the distinction?
Am I going mad or is that core just half a euro cylinder? Do they supply euros with that pinning? It’s really formidable and I for one would not fancy my chances if I had to pick it.
I've got one of these given to me by a local locksmith without a key, it's the only mul-t-lock I can't pick. I'm sure it's due to a stuck pin since I've picked many interactive plus and I can open them all. If you want it, LMK. I'm done wasting time on it lol. Not sure what he did to it but it feels like there is a pin stack that will not move. Can't even get a "bump" key in it.
LockPickingLawyer I'll give it a shot. But it was given to me the day after the locksmith pinned it up. It's not just stuck it's something he's done while pinning it up. He told me as much.
hello, I am french and beginner, I understand a little english but it is not easy. I would like to know if the row of pins is at the bottom (to the little drawing) or at the top, or if there are two sides ?
+Stephen Dupnock A small detent in the bottom of the keyway lifts the moving element of the key up allowing the moving element to set the interactive chamber higher than the top of the keyway. This ensures that you can't copy a key unless it has a moving piece.
Am I visualizing this right, the moving part can't be milled in the "up" position because it would keep the key from entering the keyway? So, it's a lever in the key operated by a button on the end when you put the key all the way in? It would be great to have a video explaining all these terms (or maybe that's more than one). Or maybe you already have, I'm fairly recent here and still working through all your old videos.
Great vid LPL, One question, What exactly do you call this type of cylinder and is it the same one that could fit inside Kasp 19070X from your [200] video? Thanks
I know this is an old video, but I just have a few questions. 1. Does Mul-T-Lock still make this lock? 2. I have a shed that has a lot of valuable tools in it and it needs a better lock on it. So is it worth my money to buy this lock or one similar to it or just go to my local Ace Hardware and get the Ace Series A527 padlock? Edit: or if you can suggest another lock that would be great. Thanks in advance and have a great weekend!
OMG! Your videos give me the feeling that it doesn't matter what kind of lock I use, any of them is possible to open in a very short time. So I can never have anything locked securely, even if the lock costs a lot :( :( :( What would you recomment for security?
That's the thing though. Lock picking is for locksmiths that don't want to damage their customers belongings, the movies and of course, lock picking nerds.😂 Any dope with lock cutters, either really long handled ones or hydraulic, an 8lb sledge hammer can break any lock. Most lock hasps can be broken with small prybars in seconds, most houses have easily broken windows, making locks only good at keeping honest people out.
Actually it really is effective - you have to know what you're doing to get these kind of locks open. I'm not nearly as good, and I had to use progressive pinning to figure out how to deal with this setup.
Ted Park My apologies, I may have been taken in the wrong context: what I meant to convey is that even such a secure lock can still be picked quite quickly by those with the right skills. LPL seems to be increadibly adept, so much so that he can tackle such a secure lock with seemingly moderate effort.
It's "easy if you know how" as they say. I think on many locks the uniqueness could be a greater detergent than the actual difficulty. Uncommon lock styles being more "secure" if only because the common criminal hasn't run into one before. Not to say that the lock manufacturer should count on that though. But even super secure locks just add minutes for a good lock picker. Gotta say this vid does really show off LPLs skills here though!
I notice that your key, does not have the spring in it that mine does. And I do not think you have said anything about that feature. if your key does not have it, or you just are not talking about it . I would like to know why my keys have it. I was told that if you do not know that that lock have a second lock to pick . due to that little spring loaded cylinder, that is in the key . That lock can not be picked as fast as you did. Mul-t-Lock, when I bought mine ,was offering 10000 dollars for anyone that could pick its locks. If this lock can be picked like that, as fast as you did. I believe that company would have been out of business, before now.If I am wrong, please tell us why you never said anything about that cylinder in the key. That has to be, just the right size to fit into that hole in the lock.( That a spring loaded cylinder in the the key itself ?
I watch all these videos and then expect to be really good but that concept is not working😲 This might actually involve time and persistence. How are all the millennials gonna do this! Haha🤣✌🙃
+Don'z Lockz It might work... you just have to watch more. Now the real secret is watching and clicking on all the ads. That REALLY helps your picking skill. 😋
