Before he was the interim HC, Wes Unseld JR had Poole playing SG next to Tyus despite the fact that their games didn’t complement each other. Then interim HC Keefe benched Poole and made him this 6 man PG off the bench, then Poole started to play much better on ball. Tyus all of a sudden gets a mysterious back injury and now Poole is the starter at PG post all-star break. As the PG he averaged 20.9 pts, 3.3 reb and 6 assists per game. Wiz still didn’t win many games but they were covering the spread consistently and being competitive. Lastly, all the reporting that comes from GS or DC about Poole, talks about him having a great worth Ethic, despite his reputation. Can we say the same about Ayton ?

Mavs had Kyrie, Lively, Kleber, Exum, Green and others miss 25-35 games each. Kyrie is always hurt, so I dont expect the Mavs to be the top seed. But when it comes to the playoffs, I can’t put OKC over the Mavs.

The OKC/Dallas series wasn’t as close as my guy was making it seem. Dallas would have finished them in 5 games if they didn’t just let their foot off the gas in game 4 when they were up big in the 1st half. Only game OKC was better was in game 1 and that’s it.

Mavs supporting cast at this point is simply better (assuming health) than the Nuggets. Nuggets have never beaten a 50 win team in the Jokic era. Mavs just beat 3 straight. Nuggets got extremely lucky with their playoff run with a injured and weak West and happened to face the 8th seeded Heat who ran out of steam. One of the weakest runs in the last 10 years.

@@soopss6640 sga - .636 ts luka - .617 ts so sga was objectively n meaningfully more efficient youre right luka scored 4 more points. thats significant. at the same time lukas usage rate is significantly higher. scale sga's usage up and he prob averages the same amount...but also i think you can argue luka hogging the time of possession hurts his team by relegating his teammates to play finisher roles instead of well rounded players. lukas a better playmaker sgas a better defender i think sga n luka are in the same tier but my preference is having a two-way guy. so i got sga over luka i think giannis n jokic (n embiid when he's healthy) are in a tier by themselves then its sga luka tatum in the next tier

@@soopss6640 first of all the usage point was to say that sga would average the same points if he had a higher usage. the time of possession / lukas style of plays is what limits his teammates impact. mavs made the finals but got destoryed bc if it wasnt luka doing his thing it was a kyrie iso. no ball n player movement to maximize the potential of his teammates. thats why indiana w/o haliburton had WAY more success against the celtics defense (in the same scheme w tatum on the center) than the mavs did. indy was scoring over 115 points per 100 possessions and mavs were around 100 points. ofc hes great hes gonna touch the ball a lot. all the best players do. but jokic leads the league in touches per game by far and his usage is less than luka n sga bc he doesnt hold it and he wrks within a system that maximizes every1. his decisions optimize the team not just himself. thats the difference giannis is a 100x better than luka on defense n a more efficient scorer while also being a plus playmaker for teammates its giannis n jokic .......... n then every1 else
