Hi everybody!
I'm trying a different video concept today - I wanted to show the entire process from start to finish of designing, test fitting, and improving prototypes into a final product. Consequently the video is quite long, and captures everything - every mistake, every forgotten detail - but hopefully every nugget of invaluable information!
3D modelling, to me, seemed like such a daunting and difficult skill - until I started learning it, and with practice I have become more skilled and efficient at it. I hope this video helps to demonstrate the entire process of designing, prototyping, and finishing a new product to suit your needs.
I host 3D printable files for download including the file being designed in this video at my downloads page www.dralanquan.com.au/downloads
The software is Autodesk Fusion 360, GIMP and Inkscape
The printer is an Elegoo Neptune 4
The filament in the video is FusRock Fusfun ToughPETG-HF

Jacob, that is just a wonderful thing to read and thank you so much for sharing that. See you again in the comments :)

With your initial measurements, transferring them in, and then using one to calculate another (eg. This needs to be half of that @ 5:02). You’d probably find that using the parameters functionality within Fusion360 would help. It also allows you to save notes against each. From memory I think you can find them in the “Modify >> Parameters” menu.

Notes sounds amazing! I'm sure there is so much functionality I'm leaving on the table. Thank you for the hot tip!

I don't know about you, but I like to put a version number directly on my prints, so I can remember which revision is which - once they start piling up on the table. I usually just slap some text on there and extrude

That's a great idea! I've vaguely thought about it before, but I've never looked into how to write text on an object. Time to learn :)
