I designed, 3D printed and created my own Tail Tidy kit for my Triumph Street Scrambler. This is just V1 that needs to be tried and tested. But the main reason was to have fun and see what I could create thats not like any other kit thats available on the market. Let me know what you think!

Thats a great work... like the design and the printed result. As we talked yesterday, in germany i coukd be difficult to get in on street, but with some changes, i could cross the TÜV Check.

Welches Problem siehst du denn da für den TÜV? Die Halter für Licht und Blinker benötigen keine Zulassung
@fuelrider
@fuelrider 5 месяцев назад

I did something similar on my custom scrambler Honda Dominator. Printed with PetG, it works too. Painted with montana can and 2k varnish.

I bet the 2k Varnish made all the difference! Awesome work my dude

nice work ! i would consider to bend the last part of the plate to show it better and it will be better for the plate lightening
@jishh
@jishh 5 месяцев назад
I think you might be right there dude! I easily forget not everyone wants an aggressive plate angle 😅 its an easy fix for sure
@AlphonseDux
@AlphonseDux 5 месяцев назад
Sweet! But why don't you print in a small holder under the brake light, for the number plate light? That would make it even cleaner.
@jishh
@jishh 5 месяцев назад
I wanted an actual "metal to metal" connection to the bike for the numberplate because of the weight. I personally like the use of multiple materials

Great project, Jish! Really enjoyed watching the process. I dont have a street scrambler (yet...you never know 😅) but it would be cool to see you selling your own line of custom parts. How was it to work with a 3d scan? Do you get good refernece points for fusion? And can you project the geometries onto your sketch? Would be cool to hear your thoughts on the process.

Thanks man! I plan on making a start to finish video on the process soon so keep an eye out for that!

Neatly done, but you might have a problem with showing a white light to the rear. The lighting regulations say that "No vehicle shall be fitted with a lamp which is capable of showing any light to the rear, other than a red light...", with a list of exceptions which doesn't include registration plate illumination.
@jishh
@jishh 5 месяцев назад
How strange! Even the standard triumph rear end has a number plate light that passes the brake light. Maybe the regs you mention are for a car?
@rickmancr
@rickmancr 5 месяцев назад
@@jishhA motorcycle is a vehicle.🙂 You cannot see a white light on the standard bike, it's shrouded.
@jishh
@jishh 5 месяцев назад
Maybe i could make my own shroud then 💪 There is definitely room for improvement, but for a first go at anything like this im still happy with the outcome

Can the signal stalks be reinforced? If anything hits the signals, I foresee them breaking under light pressure. Maybe a metal rod?
@jishh
@jishh 5 месяцев назад
I thought about this, but with it being 100% infill, the stalks are actually stronger than Aluminium! The weakest part will be the glue, but I plan on adjusting how they sit in the actual body make a stronger joint. I plan on also making a version with cheaper, more universal rubber mounted indicators too as not everybody can afford kellermans
