Hey Andrew! This has crazy potential to be used for Unreal 5 Nanite workflow. I wonder why this can not be used with regular Smart Materials though. Wouldn't it make more sense to be able to utilize Smart Materials for this instead of a completely separate Panel? The adjustment options like Scale , Rotation and Shift is also something we would need for regular painting layers as well! In the same way as here. Lets say we fill a jeans pattern, and then want to scale it afterwards, later on. Currently you would have to search the smart material again, increase the scale to bigger or smaller than what you had, and then re-fill. These functions would be very welcome also for regular paint layers. Maybe as an addition to the Layer Blending Panel. Or maybe a new layer type "fill" that is based on this, only also for pixel painting. That would be awesome!

Would it be further maybe possible to remove the step of naming and storing the mesh when exporting to Blender? Or at least give this as an option? I feel this step is unneeded and slows the workflow down. I would like to skip it. It would suffice to store the mesh in memory, as it will be transported to the application anyways. So no need really to store it on disk? This is how GoB does it from Blender to ZBrush and back, and its super fast because of this. Of course, 3D Coat transports and adds much more when sending data, so maybe this is needed. But it would be great not having to temporarily save each time just for sending meshes to Blender. (I suggested this already on the forums, but got no reaction to this point)

Updating applink breaks for me. Get a duplicate back. After reinstalling 2022 and not updating applink it works as intended
