Owned my first Tacoma pickup for 25 years. 350,000 miles. I’m a fanatic about preventative maintenance. Changed oil every 3000 miles no exemptions. Replaced breaks at 125,000. Dealer said I could make a commercial. Replaced muffler system at about 300,000. Blew a head gasket at about 300,000. Got that taken care of. Replaced catalytic converter once. Had problems with the starter motor toward the end and had to have that fixed more than I would have liked but that truck was the best investment I ever made. Replaced it with a 3rd Gen TRD Sport. Love it and so does everybody else.

@@Michael_Tran what year was your ranger I've had two rangers before trying out a Tacoma currently an x runner the first ranger I had was a 1994 that served me well over 300,000 miles on it before it was caught in an accident the big thing that I remember from that small truck that had to be replaced was the air conditioner I then got a 2003 ranger with the 3.0 v6 and unfortunately after purchasing it I later found out that it was the troublesome motor out of the three variants between the 4 cylinder in the 4.0 v6 the truck started having consistently problems every month after I daily drive it around 270,000 including at that time something serious with the motor I decided to get fixed as I noticed quite a loss of power when flooring the gas found out it was something cracked on part of the engine it wasn't too serious but it was enough to lose power and it bugged me so I ended up fixing it they didn't cost me the amount of the truck I think it only cost me about 1,200 but still it seems like they started to have a bit more problems as the years go on

Another excellent video. Thanx for taking us along..... As a retired Euro Car Tech (28 years) here's a couple of observations. 1. Batteries are a consumable part. They have a finite life span and modern electronics are hard on them. 2 or 3 years is a very common life span. I change mine out every 3 years regardless of condition. It's cheaper than a tow bill. 2. Your TPMS sensors were modified? Doesn't count as a failure. I have 20K on my 2019TRDOR. Hope its has as few problems as yours's.....

Good information. The battery is 24F (super common) good for four years. I have a TOPDON ($50) battery tester and start checking after they are two years old. I just got a 2021 DCLB (Double Cab Long Bed) Off-Road. I like having the 6' bed, comes in handy. The 2021 "car play" is still the sucky etune. No Google maps, nor Waze, Scout GPS is the only option (it sucks). 2022 will be a new design, hopefully with true Android Car Play. For me Off-Road as I wanted the locker (95% of my off-road is easily done in 2WD, 4.9% in 4WD; so 0.1% I can use a locker.) I'll add rock sliders, mainly as insurance to prevent a crushed rocker and a door not functioning The biggest downside is our 950-pound payload gets reduced. My FJ60 was deadstock, still running at 400,000 miles (maintenance, don't overlook brake fluid and power steering every five years. The fuel tank was replaced under Toyota Warranty but clutch (250,000 miles), water pump, and alternator/starter brushes, and wear items. The only other tip, there are a ton of knock-off "OEM" parts being sold on Amazon and eBay. As much I hate the dealership, I do buy items from them to ensure they are OEM and not "made in china, but marked "all original Japan". Huge problem. Too old to make videos anymore, so keep up the good work and keep 'em coming.

Get the TRD Off Road, I have a 2019 long bed, love it. Trade the fake hood scoop for funcional tools like the Crawl Control and Multiterrain Select, and the locking differential. They’re priced the same, TRD Sport is just “looks” and the fender flares are body painted which suck when you wheel because pinstripes will not disappear.

Great video! What has broke on the Tacoma? Wear and tear parts 🤣! Oem batteries are terrible in most vehicles. I moved my old Optima yellow top from my Subaru into the Honda and it’s still going strong. There was One video where I spent a whole night trying to kill it by leaving the car on, didn’t happen. A portable jump starter is a good thing to have, I carry two and keep them stowed away from electronically open doors like my tail gate. Car dies and I can’t get back there

I have a Tacoma TRD Offroad pre runner SR5 with nearly 200K miles with no issues. But i don't modify anything from factory besides larger tires on factory rims. I do know people who do modifications and live to regret it. Another thing is I don't have a backup camera but know those who do. And when they lift the truck beyond factory specs, they seem to have a problem with backup camera. Toyota has done a good job building the Tacoma but it's not to be messed with in my opinion. My truck doesn't give me a lick of problem, but I don't modify it from factory specs.

I looked forever to find a TRD Off Road, double Cab , Premium pkg and a 6 foot bed. We use our truck for work around our property so a 6’ bed was a must. I absolutely Love my 23. At my age this will be the last pickup I’ll ever own. They’re Great trucks. This is my 4th Toyota pickup. My previous pickups were the Hylux . This is my First Tacoma and I really do enjoy it. I bought my first Toyota when I was 18 years old. It was 5 years old with 70K miles. I drove it for 19 years, so it was 24 years old when it finally died in 02 with 488K miles. My first Hylux was a 79. I also had an 84, 90 and now my 23. My 79 became our small farm truck in 84 when I bought my 2nd one. In 90 my 84 was stolen and totaled. I had to sell my 2010 Tundra when Communist Biden became president and he shut down America from drilling our own oil causing our gasoline prices to skyrocket. I LOVED that Tundra, so I think that the people who voted for him should have had to pay my gasoline bills. After all, they voted for skyrocketing fuel, food, taxes and open borders. Maybe now they’ll realize the error of their ways and vote for TRUMP
