You don't need to soak the pistons in oil, all they need is light coating of wd40 on the rings and maybe the skirts if you really wanted to. Definitely don't need the the whole piston covered in oil, they say it cause your cylinder walls to glaze up on break in but alot of people do it so idk how often that can happen tbh but may as well just eliminate the chance all together lol

If you swap the v6 to a v8 do you have to change the transmission

I'm doing the same thing you're doing and I know I need to move the 5.7 L forward in the engine bay 4 and 3/8 of an inch is that Center of motor mount to center of motor mount or is that front side of existing motor mount to backside of new motor mount bracket

Did you use the same harness?

Will this hurt the transmission since your putting a 5.7 motor on a 6 cylinder transmission

Well welding does not get better with age. Just saying...LOL. SO PRACTICE MORE WHEN YOUR YOUNG.
