@IntoTheDepths444 That's great to hear. I'm so glad that you enjoy this one. These breathing tracks are quite labor intensive and take a long time to make. I will literally sit there and count, in real-time, for the whole recording. Then it requires editing and layering. I don't have the time these days to create a 1-hour long breathing meditation, but I do appreciate the feedback and I do hear your complaint. Maybe sometime in the future, I will create an extra long session for you.😉 Hope you're well. Have a great day!

Incredible. At 62, I have never done any kind of meditation or breathing. You have become part of my morning routine. I have been able to free my mind as I float through memories, moments in my life, some of which I have forgotten. The luxury of detail in these memories is wonderful and sobering. My brain is being defragment. Even my morning heart rate variability has improved. The journey continues. Thank you

Thank you for this. Your coherent breathing, 5 Breaths a min video was my favorite breath routing for calming my breath and preparing my lungs and body for other breathing techniques. I try to get as calm as possible before doing any deep breathing and/or breath hold routines, even before box breathing, but , after experiencing the our free gift of 4:6 breathing this will always be a go to for calming my mind!! Thank you guys

@Scotty Rosencrance it sound like you already know quite a bit about breathing and have a dedicated practice. That's wonderful. Yes, it's always helpful to slow down the mind, body and breath before doing any type of breath holding...even box breathing, as you said. I'm so glad that you are finding my guided sessions helpful. I really appreciate your feedback. Thank you so much for taking the time.

Great guided meditation. I’ve been practicing Qi Gong movements and found this to be the best breathing type to do for me while doing the movements. Incredible relaxation even while doing some difficult movements.
@BELightTT
@BELightTT 2 года назад
@Jonathan Winter I LOVE Qi Gong! That's such awesome feedback. I'm so happy to hear that this cadence works well for you during your practice. So let me ask you then, do you still try to match the breath to the movement, or do you simply keep a consistent breath cadence and allow the movements to develop on their own?
@JonathanDavidWinter
@JonathanDavidWinter 2 года назад
@@BELightTT I still match the breath to the movement. I also keep the tension with the in breath and the relaxation with the exhale. If the movement is too much for the cadence of the 4-6 breath, I revert to a easier movement for me. Sometimes it’s just the standing position if I’m tired. It helps me focus more internally on feeling the internal body functions like blood flow, skeletal movements, expansion of blood vessels, and sometimes peristalsis. I’ve been trying to find more 4-6 music only with trigger sounds for the 4-6 breathing.
@BELightTT
@BELightTT 2 года назад
@@JonathanDavidWinter Very cool! That makes complete sense. And yes, I almost always feel peristalsis when I breathe at 4-6. It's awesome. And I think your instinct to just do standing posture sometimes, is spot on. That position is POWERFUL! Everything aligns and you feel everything so profoundly. I'm so happy you are practicing this.😊 And what do you mean by 4-6 music? Just a music track with clicks or something to indicate the 4 & 6?
@JonathanDavidWinter
@JonathanDavidWinter 2 года назад
@@BELightTT Yes, music track with clicks or something very gentle to trigger the breath. Or even better, music that will phase in on the in breath and phase out on exhale. Like, ocean waves sound but not ocean waves. For when you know how to breath to 4-6 but still need a gentle reminder to keep the cadence. I’ve found something like that to 5.5 but the in and out are both 5.5, which doesn’t work well for me.

Thank you so much for this session! I'm new to the world of coherent/mindful breathing and the relative lack of scientifically-supported and sometimes even conflicting information made it quite overwhelming to me at first. Your channel really helps me understand not only the hows but also the whys behind it all -- I'm more motivated to practice regularly now that I better grasp the physiological underpinnings of the various breathing techniques (beside actually feeling a difference of course). I have Ehlers Danlos (and the associated dysautonomia) and anxiety, so figuring out what works best for me is still an ongoing process, but I'm getting nearer thanks to your videos. I also practice alongside your video tailored for people suffering from anxiety and low CO2 tolerance and I rediscovered something that I used to do instinctively. I hope on the long term I can better manage my anxiety and maybe, hopefully, lower my chronic pain levels.

Thanks @adam durrani for listening and for giving thoughtful feedback. Yes, I've had that feedback in the past on another video. I will have to figure something out. I think hearing me say "in" and "out" for 15 minutes will start to annoy people, so I will have to come up with some sort of subtle sound indicator to make the breath cadence more clear. I appreciate your suggestion. Many thanks.

This is a great session! Thanks so much, tara! 🙏❤️. I have a question...i find it more comfortable to breathe leveraging my glottis. The breath is more from the throat and through the nose..i find it easier to control the length of inhale/ exhale. Is this ok or not a good habit?
@BELightTT
@BELightTT 3 года назад
Hi @Nithya Venkataraman Thank you for trying out this session. I appreciate your feedback. Hmmmm, it's an interesting question. You mean you are creating a little bit of restriction at the back of the throat? I'm trying to replicate what you are describing and my first instinct is to say, it would be nice to be able to control the inhale/exhale without holding that tension in the throat. Although, I can totally understand how it makes it easier to control and elongate the exhale. When you leverage the glottis in that way, is your breath still silent? Or do you hear a small hissing sound? Honestly, I don't think it's about "right or wrong", I think it's more about "how many ways can I have conscious control of my body and my actions?" Can you maybe try a few minutes of slow, quiet breathing without any tension in the throat? Making the breath almost imperceptible? I don't like to give definitive answers, because the breath is really a personal exploration. But I would invite you try both breathing with the throat technique you are already comfortable with, and then also without it. Can you slow down your breath without creating any tension in the body? I hope that helps. Let me know what you discover.

@rhondaurb great suggestion! And you are not the first. These guided audio recordings are a bit of a work in progress as I discover what works best for everyone. I haven't found a sound that I like you for indicating "inhale" and "exhale" without getting annoying, but I have started to just say "in" and "out" throughout the entire session, and I think that is working pretty well. Thanks so much for your feedback. I will continue to explore. Thanks for listening and for trying out the session. I appreciate it.

Thanks a lot for sharing and guiding the breathing technique. I started to practice this technique daily. Just want to know can I do 4-6 breathing in the morning and 4-4-4-4 box breathing in the night, will that be useful ?
@BELightTT
@BELightTT 2 года назад
@Jinoy Manoharan thank you so much for listening and for trying it out! 🙏 The trick with any breath practice is personal awareness. It's fine that I give you a list of benefits and expected outcomes, but you must FEEL those for yourself. So, it is absolutely fine for you to practice 4-6 in the morning and 4-4-4-4 at night, but make sure it matches with your experience of each breath rhythm. For example, how do you feel doing the 4-6 breathing? Does it make you sleepy or relaxed or clear-headed or what? If the way it makes you feel matches the energy you would like to have in the morning, then practice it in the morning. On the other hand, if it makes you drowsy and sleepy, it might be better suited as an evening practice. The same goes for your 4-4-4-4 box breath. How does it make you feel? And for YOU, when would be the best time in your day to embody that particular feeling? Does this make sense? There is no one prescription for everybody. Please feel free to experiment and see what works optimally for you. And also be aware, that you may require different practices on different days, and your needs might change over time. I hope this helps, Jinoy. Thank you for the question. Let me know if this makes sense.

@Edmont Dantes that can happen sometimes. I totally feel you. So for you, start a little bit quicker, but keep the same ratio. I would recommend a breathing cadence of 3 counts in and 5 counts out. I will try to make a video about that for you some time in the next couple weeks as well. Thank you for bringing this to my attention! So until you have a guided video, just try counting on your own. 3 counts in and 5 counts out, for 5, 10 or 15 minutes. Whatever feels comfortable for you to begin. Thanks for watching and for trying out the sessions!

I would find this more useful if there were visual correlates rather than just a person saying, in a Marilyn Monroe voice, 'breathe'. Either numbers counting up by 4, then by 6. Or else an animation.
@BELightTT
@BELightTT 2 года назад
@Madronaxyz I hear you. Thanks for that feedback. Yes, these guided breathing recordings have been an evolution over the past year...trying to figure out a system that works for the most people. In terms of visualizations, I would like to do something like that (I've seen that done in other videos), but right now, I do not have access to a simple animation for that purpose. I also think that the majority of my audience does their breathing practice with their eyes closed. Do you find that you often practice with eyes open? Maybe at some point in the near future, I will add something like that. And then in terms of cueing, yes, my more recent videos just count the entire time without any breathing track. You may like some of those better. Here's an example of one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FsaKtS6MFQ4.html (warning, this one does not have any music.) I hope that helps.
