Salespeople want to sell you a solar lease or PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) the majority of the time. It is an easier product to sell to someone because it can be explained in an extremely simple way that makes a lot of sense on the surface. Leasing or doing a solar PPA isn't always bad, but for the majority of people, buying the system is going to result in much greater savings, experience with the system, and flexibility with changing the system later, along with many other benefits. Thank you! I spent the time and did the math on my quoted 25 year PPA through sun run. And my total out of pocket after 25 years would be $109437.21 Given i had ZERO ISSUES OR OUTAGES over 25 years. DONT DO IT PEOPLE!

Sunpower offer me ppa of fixed payment $146 for 25y. Total comes to about $42k by end of lease term. They also offer option to prepay the ppa lease upfront for $24k. Then there is no-payment for the 25y. This comes to about $80/mo Benefits 1. Have warranty and maintenance cover for 25y under ppa. Including the battery 2. Resell house, new owner don't worry about ppa payments 3. End of 25y, have option to return the solar or keep it for a Penny on the dollar. What do you think of this option prepay ppa?

I say might as well keep your cash in your pocket because it’s the fact they still need to collect future payments from you which incentives them to service you.

You may have forgotten that your bill will go up 3.5% annually. It will cost you way more than 42k

My parents with Momentum Solar and they said $146 a month with 2.9% yearly increase for next 25 years. We live in Florida do you think it is a good idea.

@@Superiorsolarconsulting They produce 21k kWh a year and it is a 11.7k kWh system. Their FPL bill is $371. If this information helps.
