Awesome! Can’t wait for my Carvera to ship. I’ll have to look deeper into Kiri:Moto, it looks like a very clean workflow, and it’s the first CAM app I’ve seen recommended or used other than F360 or Makera’s own in-development CAM solution. I’d be *extremely* interested in seeing an installation/configuration video for Kiri:Moto for Carvera
For Kiri:Moto, there is no installation necessary. It's entirely browser-based (nothing happens in the cloud) and open source. Just open the URL (grid.space/kiri/) and select Carvera from the CNC device list. Then import your model and start working. It's also available (also free) inside of Onshape as an add-in app, so you can have an entire CAD+CAM workflow in browser with no SW installs or updates. If you need it to work offline, there are two options: 1) run it as a progressive web app which "installs" and can run offline or 2) download and run an instance locally.
Hey GridSpace, trying to make a custom hand tool handle, think double ended pencil. I followed the video above and uploaded my handle into your program. I added tool details for the flush and v bits from Carvera to do roughing pass versus the contour pass. Handle is basically round with two raised areas at each end to hold like a pencil. If I followed correctly I sliced the model with all the rough/contour/index steps. I have exported the code and placed it in the g-code folder for the Carvera. The issue is when I go to open it with the carvera it isn’t recognized. What am I doing wrong? Great vid, it would help if you added text for the hot keys you use to jump through menus to make it easier to follow, but I did figure it out, I believe. REALLY want to make this ~120mm handle, any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
