G'day guys, I have been really busy lately working on a few things but Please make sure you check out our other channel ‪@thebrisbanebrothers8332‬ to see more of what we are upto, with plenty of 351C and Early Ford content.
I had a lot of people asking when my next video will be up, so I decided it has been too long and I made this video about a 351 Cleveland Ford V8 with "All the Fours". This engine was fitted with a "Hank the Crank Oiling Manifold System" and modified for high RPM.
I hope you all enjoy the video and the few tips I put in there too.
Thanks for watching!

This is amazing to see! I’m Hank’s grandson, and since he passed away, I’ve been doing so much research on all of the projects he was involved with. He was part of a rare generation of innovators. He was in business only a couple years after he left CSC so that’s cool that you have this from the early years of his business. I’ve only read a little about this system so it’s crazy for me to see this in real life! Thanks for preserving this piece of racing history!!

That is definitely the rarest 351 Cleveland I've ever seen. What an incredible motor and oiling setup that is . It looks like the holy grail of Cleveland's. Thanks bro
@ronnieboucherthecrystalcraftsm
the intake manifold is always machined to match heads - ALWAYS ! - 4v clevland saw moffat racing oil in the sump Boiling = oil cooler - just to get the oil out of that hot engine = hot heads cooking oil = 500 hp easy mod for the legend 351 4v cleveland

Cool find and thanks for the share. Certainly a great system that was designed to direct feed the crank mains and big ends as priority straight from the oil pump instead of the crank being last in the factory design oiling system. At (4:20) you mention the oil manifold is tapped into the R/H oil gallery and at the rear is a feedback loop return line. Those 3 lines in the valley are actually each angle drilled up through the block from the bottom at mains #2, 3 & 4 bearing oil passages, and larger at the upper end of the new holes where the fittings are with tubes inserted. Those 3 are the direct pressure feed supply to those mains/big ends. The external pipe added at the rear, where the oil pressure sender unit is usually fitted, is just fitted with a BSPT fitting to direct more oil to the rear main, and a restrictor plug was added in his design to the front of the R/H lifter gallery to direct more oil to the front main. What would be a great addition on this vid would be to see what Main Bearings this engines builder chose. Half groove? or Full Groove? The factory crankshaft oil drilling ports on journal mains 2 & 4 caused a problem on big end bearings 2 & 7 when kept in the high revs because of oil "clock on..clock off" timing. Bearing choice helped this. Aftermarket cranks design fixed this prob. Cheers bro. Very Nice.

You certainly find some unique engines. Very informative with your details about engines plus great parts for sale. Wishing you both a great month & of course 2022. Catch up with you both 2022 with my 351 2v Cleveland. Let's make a lot of lumpy noise in 2022. All the very best to you both & your families. Dags🙂.

Excellant video as usual guys. What about the use of full groove main bearings with a standard volume pump ? Paul Dilley and his kiwi mate Chris did a fascinating video on this topic - i think they said mains #1 and #5 were the critical ones. Cheers 🙏🙌

Why is it supplying more oil to right side when right side already gets oil from 9/16 galley first, it's the left side that is oil starved.

So the elongations of the oil return holes in the valley section, do you recommend this for ALL Clevelands or was it only for the Hank the Crank engine ??
@thclevoking
@thclevoking 2 года назад
It doesn’t hurt to do in any clevo, opening them up too big can weaken the block a bit so it’s easiest just to nicely remove the shape edges

How much power would this engine make?
@thclevoking
@thclevoking 2 года назад
It was only estimated at 460hp mate it was more designed to rev high. A modern camshaft would see it make around 550hp pretty easy with all the work in the heads.
