In this video I talk about the big lessons I've learned working in software. Hopefully, these lessons will help you maximize your career and help you to enjoy what you do.
You better learn how to: 1) Never give any form of loyalty to any company. No such thing as the whole company family thing when you get laid off. 2) HR is not your friend and are there to protect the company from you. 3) Always up skill behind the scenes and be on the lookout for new opportunities with better pay and progression. 4) Never trust your co-workers. A lot of them will 🐍 you to climb the corporate ladder. Always keep receipts and remember 1-3. It’s a cold world and unfortunately we don’t live in LaLa land. Being an engineer doesn’t shield you from corporate bs.
Thanks for your videos Brian, keeping me motivated. Been looking for a job for 3 months after finishing bootcamp and I've sent 300 applications out and had 4 interviews with no job offers, it's hard to not view myself as a failure and keep pushing through regardless of the rejection.
Hey Brian, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make highly engaging shorts for you.
