I've heard the statement so many times "I don't need that many holes, i'll never use them". This is a perfect example of what Kevin has run into, it just limits your setup options multifold. As he stated, moving a bar one hole makes a huge move & often you just can't get an optimum setup. Kevin, I agree, I'd like to see that bottom bar lower as well as the rear of the top bar.closer to the rear end housing. I'm not afraid of a bigger spread but again with your brackets it's all hypothetical until you plug the numbers into the 4 link program. I also like to have bottom adjustable shock mounts on the brackets so you can move ride height but keep the shock in the right position for travel. Great job on the video, sorry you lost a bunch of footage in the process, frustrating I'm sure. A friend of mine who is an NHRA certified rear end builder makes brackets that have all those features plus a unique setup that allows moving the rear of the bottom bar in small increments. If you want his info, either E-mail me. Mike

Thanks for the great information, I got a 65 Impala wagon I'm using to further my chassis knowledge. On the scales 4200lbs with me in it, 50/50 left to right and 54% rear. I just said that cause I scaled it. Gonna build some adjustable upper control arms and try to get it to hook.

I just cut some low prep brackets out on the table. Curious to see they help the old ranger.

Kevin, I followed a lot of your advice on my S10 4-link. We have won two races in the last two weeks. Sunday I went 17 rounds in competition. Pretty flawless but couple things cropped when the track sat longer between rounds. It spun, not as bad as the other guys, but it sort of "felt like I was going over humps in the rear". I was thinking shock settings? Currently I am on 9 (QA1 dbl adj) on Extension and 6 on Rebound (compression). I like the "hit" but it feels like it is then bouncing back when the track loosens up a bit, maybe stiffen the Rebound to keep shock in extension longer? Or loosen extension to let it hit harder? Also, scaled the truck and it is : LF 867 RF 781 LR 612 RR 694 Left 50.1% CR 47.2% Rear 44.2% 2954 weight This is with three flats pre-load on top right bar and two turns longer on the anti-roll bar. Look OK to you. Keep up the good work, I think I have sent your link to about 15 of my racing buddies. Jok

I would drill a new hole in the bottom chassis 4 ink bracket. Then notch it you can lengthen your bottom bar.

How does the rear end 4 link spread effect the car? Nice video!

I would like a video on you wood blocks you use to support the car. What type of wood and how you made them. Thanks. Also finally broke down and bought the south side machine pro series upper A arms upper ball joints and lower ball joints and lower bushings for the grand national for my true street no prep fun. I do street drive the car. What kind of alignment should I put in it. It does have skinneys up front thanks

Wood is just treated 2" x 4" from local lumber supply. I can try to capture the dimensions soon, but they are 10.75" tall. The blocks that hold the scales are recessed down the scales just sit below 10.75" when I roll the car on the scales. My prediction: your going to crush your sidewalls too much with that much torque from a blower motor. You will need to move your IC forward of the CG point to calm it down. But I am just putting this out there because you asked us too, not trying to be a smart ass or anything.
@KevinWilsonSBC

Big wheelies with no bars.

@@KevinWilsonSBC seems like an aggressive low angle, I would think it would be prone to try to roll the front end upward. I’m newish to big tire stuff and still have a lot to learn for sure.
@RiversideRacecraft

To me it looks like it would have a lot of front side bite and run out of bite down track?
