Historical Magpie I have to travel a fair way to detect any beach. If you ever fancy meeting up for a beach hunt let me know mate. Thanks for watching. Wouldn't mind having a go with your CscopePI. GL&HH. Jason.
I love the cscope its a great machine no discrim so have to dig everything. Whats the excaliber like? Might take you up on that offer for a dig oneday mate 👍
Historical Magpie I love the Excal mate. It's so simple to use. You only really need to adjust the sensitivity to suit the beach. We should meet up for a dig.
Lee Neale Hi. Most beaches are owned by the crown estate. They do not issue permits anymore. You simply read the terms and conditions on their website. They do however lease out beaches to third parties. There are also private beaches. First place to check is crown estate website and look at their map. Everything in purple is owned by them.
Hello mate I’m thinking about buying a Minelab detector just wondered what your favourite deector is and your thoughts on the excalibur 2 or what you would recommend?
Hi. Thanks for watching. Both detectors are great. In my personal opinion the Excalibur is much easier to use. However, have you done your homework. Do you know about the threshold. Do you know about threshold tone change for different metal types ? Obviously the Excal is heavier but if you use a Anderson carbon over / under shaft it feels much better than the Nox.
Hi. The pole is a boat hook that is cut down to size. I get them from a friend. They last well but do break eventually. I’ll probably go carbon fibre next time.
Hi, My handle is made out of a marine boat hook. I'm not sure of the exact wood but it is very flexible and strong and comes already varnished. They do break eventually though. When this one breaks I will be upgrading to carbon fibre though.
Loved the hunt well done great coins cheers bro from cointector Australia 🇦🇺 just bought a Excalibur 2 can’t wait to take it out ps just subscribed!! Is that a Anderson straight shaft your using??
Just been watching your videos and enjoying them. I'm out and about on beaches using my Minelab Safari that's great as multi frequency. At the moment the only disturbances are dog walkers who can ask a few questions. Out of interest do you hit the beaches early in the summer and go before the first sunbathers arrive? I'm trying to work out my summer strategy ☺
5 Minute Man Hi. Thanks for watching. I hit the beaches when work permits. Ideally in the summer I look for a early morning low tide and start at about 6-7am before the crowds gather.
5 Minute Man I did a hunt before Christmas and recently one in the new year but unfortunately they were both pants. Typical of winter hunts in the UK. I may post a video of both hunts. GL&HH.
steve thanks for watching buddy. Glad you liked it. I parked in a car park right next to the beach. The postcode is TN31 7RH. It cost £5 all day. If you get there early there is a pay and display machine. GL&HH.
Hi. I think a large sand scoop is an absolute must on the beach, especially in the water or wet sand. Always handy to have a pinpointer as well though. I usually forget mine. Jason
@@jerrytalley802 I got the end cap of of Joe OBN. Last time I checked he was still making the end caps but only during the winter months( about now so I would email him if I was you to check ) The switch was made by Tony Eisenhower. You can email him via his you tube channel or Facebook to see if he is still supplying them. Either one of them will supply the new internal jumper cable which solders into the PCB. You will also need marine grade 2 part epoxy to encapsulate the connections into the end cap. Where do you live ? Some people send the detector to Minelab service centres to have the job done.
@@RustyRecovery i may have to look into that external mic, i wear mine up high on my chest but sometimes its still hard to hear me in the videos, thanks 😁
Hi. I got the shaft from Detecniks in the UK. It is an Anderson over / under and balances the weight much better than the stock shaft. Thanks for watching.
CRIP PPLED I've never used Gumtree. I guess if you use it pay cash, not bank transfer. I would personally use EBay and PayPal. As for detectors, I personally love the Excalibur but they are expensive. Maybe try and get a Soverign. Pretty much the same as the Excalibur but the control box is not waterproof. If you want to wait a couple of months the the new Minelab Equinox will be out. Reasonably priced, waterproof and multi frequency which is handy on mineralised sand beaches. GL.
Hi Mark Salmon. I hunt with discrimination set to its lowest. Volume on max. Sensitivity on about 7. Sometimes higher or lower depending on conditions and with threshold barely audible. I have the PP mod so can switch between disc and PP easily. Thanks for watching. GL&HH.
"Parking meter" you have to pay to go to the beach? That's disgraceful. The beach is for everyone to enjoy not just those in walking distance of it! Good grief what next! Dammed greedy councils!!
we have one beach here that is $20 to park, unless you want to walk 5 blocks or more, but then you worry about the security of your car. We have another one that is $5 we don't mind paying that one, but the $20 is pretty painful
