The story about the man at the pond, the father was talking to the kid's parents and doesn't tell them that there may be a man at the pond because he doesn't want to alarm them. That is totally ridiculous. It's better for them to be wrongly alarmed than to have their kid kidnapped.
@shawnbbunbbbybbb3942
@shawnbbunbbbybbb3942 19 дней назад
Yea I mean I understand that most likely it’s probably nothing and u don’t wanna worry them but very sadly this was one of the few times it wasn’t nothing and even if it was when it comes to the safety and well-being of a child there’s absolutely no reason to take a chance and he shoulda had one of the kids parents come with him cause like u said it’s better to be worried and maybe even look like a psycho only to find out nothings wrong than to do nothing and god forbid something terrible happens like it unfortunately did

As a paranoid mother. If my child mentioned meeting a man with coins by the pond. For a quest. I would feel the need to tell the other parents. If there had never been any mention of others in their play time. That is so devastating. There are really just no words for that nightmare.

This was a heart wrenching story. That poor boys parents! May they have peace in their grieving process! The boys friend had every right to feel what he did, he was literally drug into trying to find his friend and not even being aware of the danger and trauma. Kudos to his dad for questioning this play encounter. If only his brain had engaged on this scenario quicker it might have ended differently. No I don’t mean to blame him. Let’s Read you tell stories with such compassion and great comments regarding some of them. Well, I’m just assuming this is you and not the actual person that wrote the encounter. Agree, the amount of people who brush off crazy red flags are basically failed Darwin experiments. "My dad brain finally kicked in" no it really didn't my guy. I would have immediately called the parents the second there was a mention of "man with gold coins", not sit around idle and wonder if it was make believe or not. It is ALWAYS better to come off as paranoid than to brush off legitimate red flags.

In story 2 I think old dad doesn't realize how smart kids are. I bet money his son had a better idea than he thought. Not that he knew exactly what was going on... but he knew his dad was there for a reason and it was a serious situation. That's why he didn't argue or ask too many questions. Kids are much smarter than parents give them credit for. They know when we're in protective mode and they understand that we only get like that cause there's a reason to

They might not fully understand the situation or what’s potentially happening but I feel like kids r very good at picking up on emotions. I think that’s y when a baby or toddler falls or something and isn’t really hurt their reaction is based on the parents if they’re smiling and acting like everything’s on the kid is usually fine but if they rush over looking frantic like omg r u ok r u ok that’s when they freak out and cry because they see the way the parent reacted and go off of that.

I live behind a convenience store. About 20 years ago the police came to my home and said stay inside, lock your doors. Also told our neighbors. The SWAT team came In a big truck and went all out in our yards looking in every shed and any place a person could hide. Two men had ran through our yard and behind my home is a fence and a huge pasture. They think the guys ran through the pasture which is not my property! Was very scary to see a SWAT team in my yard!!😱. We have 6 acres. More than once we have had life flight land in our field!! Bad wrecks. Just two weeks ago the police were chasing a guy through our neighbors yard and had to let the police dog put him down. We found out later the man had guns. It could have been so bad. Stray bullets!!😱. We really live in a good place. I have been living here almost 50 years. This type of thing has happened 3 or 4 times. Nowhere is 100 percent safe!!

I'm going to be perfectly honest a lot of people should listen to these stories to understand that these are the type of decisions you shouldn't allow to go unnoticed as a parent because it all honesty it's very unsettling how today's parents are so willing to just ignore their kids behavior or a little things they tell them that sounds so worrying and I'm just brushing it off and thinking demos have learned that from a TV show or a movie they saw on TV and it's like come on do you like a kid's going to just use that as their next imaginary adventure this is why you're upsets me that parents today just like parents back then just think kids say and do things because they want their attention and it's like even if that's true that's your job as a parent to give your kids attention because you never know what they're telling you is actually the truth of what they're telling you kind of like the second story to do with that kid's parents that just thought he was going to meet up with the posters kid end just for him to get kidnapped
