Handy video. Especially like the picking the ball up and passing drill and he emphasis on standing upright and not slouching. Gonna try this with my guys tonight at training, cheers from the 🇬🇧

What about a small qb who has trouble passing in the pocket because it’s difficult to see over the line, tips?
@tysondouglas2361
@tysondouglas2361 4 года назад
Bruh I feel you. All you haft to have is a high release point and arc the ball with the same speed.

Also study how most small QBs throw in the nfl

Cam Baker play through windows. What Kyler, Russell and Brees all do is play the windows game. You can’t look over anybody and can’t arch your shoulders because you will miss high or lose your power by standing too tall. Keep a slight bend in your knees always and you may have to drift in the pocket a lot of the time to find throwing lanes to throw through. 6’4 guy can look over everything, I was a short guy so you need to have great feet in the pocket to create windows

Also if the defenses are playing zone and you know the coverage try to look the safeties away from who your gonna throw to

Good video man. I left a like! I have not played tackle football yet, but I am going to next year. However, there is an intramural flag football thing that will be happening in January, and it probably will help me improve. The problem is that a few of my friends don’t want to do it... can I still be a starter on varsity if I work my ass off and don’t actually do FF? Main reason I want to do it is because I can sort of get better route running and stuff Thank you!
@firstdowntraining
@firstdowntraining 4 года назад
CofCMaster yeah flag football can be good and bad, if it’s real play concepts it can help but you can most definitely still play if you don’t play flag

I know this is an old video but if you see this comment could you explain what the “bang” part is of a bang 8 or bang 9. thank you
@firstdowntraining
@firstdowntraining Год назад
Yessir “bang” 8 post is like hitting the post right off the break. It’s a skinny post- so he’s running maybe 8-10yds breaking off of his 3rd outside step. We throw before he looks and keep him from crossing the hash. (If it’s the middle of the field). Our footwork is just 3 and throw from gun, 5 & throw from under center or shuffle hitch from gun if you’re doing shuffle footwork. Hope this helps!

Looks good. Except for bringing the ball back and around no good. That's called wasted motion. Ball should come up and forward not back and around.

I have a 7 on 7 on Monday and I play qb the problem is I’m taller than most of the players there
@Mysticdsp
@Mysticdsp 3 года назад
That's good my coach tought me too keep my hand up when throwing since ewe are taller..instead of throwing like a rainbow tty to get the ball their like a bullet since you can throw down to players rather then too players if that makes sence
