Today I share 4 really important things to think about and what has happened during my week. We should stop and really think about what is important to our happiness. An update on my husband.

Hi Sandra from Annie. Finding happiness is a job in itself. I like how you say loving oneself is so very important well that is very true we all have to accept ourselves and show ourselves some love and care. We are indeed our own best friends most of the time. As for friendships with others it is hard to find a genuine person out there. But staying hopeful. I like that you remind us to be loving towards ourselves, we need to hear that more often to stay positive.

A wise woman once taught me how to say “no.” When asked to do something that I don't want to do, say, “I prefer not.” and this works. Prayers for Arthur’s health and your strength to help him.

Great advice! Whenever someone responds to my “no” with “well, why not? Why won’t you?” I respond back with, “why do you ask?” LOL the stunned look I get back is priceless…sometimes a “just curious” comes back, to which I say, “oooh, I see.” And then smile 😊

Hi Sandra, My husband and I are in our 80s and thank the good lord we are healthy enough to take care of my sister and her husband to keep them living in their own home. This was so beautiful. Protecting Out Peace 🧡 As a child you know that I had a very hard time. No peace and really no joy. No real childhood to speak of. As I started ny own life I told myself I would rewrite the story. In doing that I practice joy and peace. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. I always tell my adult children to never let anyone steal their joy and peace. I really do feel we have a choice to be kind or unkind, at peace or completely stressed, love yourself or feel guilty to care for you. What you put out you will get back. I have always worked and I always start my day with peace. When the children were young I quietly and with love woke them up. I have always had a water fountain and turn it on for a beautiful sound in the morning. When I feel overwhelmed or sad I own it and I remember at least three things I am grateful for, and it completely changes my thinking and turns it to joy. I also compliment another person or do for others, this also changes your mind and path. I only surround myself with honest and loving and giving and caring people. Age can be amazing because we grow and change and become better people. Loved this Sandra. 🙌🏻🍑🧡Lisa

Blessings to you and Arthur. Having been a caretaker to 3 different family members at different times in my life, I know how exhausting it can be. Please take care of yourself, Sandra. Your health is important, too. And, of course, Arthur’s physical therapy will be most important. It sounds as though he is getting the best of care.

On “protect your peace”…I would love to be surrounded with peace. My life right now is anything BUT peaceful. However, it is possible to BE PEACEFUL amidst the chaos. It’s a choice of how we react, a choice of how we spend our limited free time, and how we navigate through the chaos to the other side of it versus give up and wallow in it. Great message Sandra.

My life changed 4 years ago last week and I try so hard to work towards finding some sort if happiness but it seems to get harder. I lost my son...it hurts even now. Prayers for you and Arthur. I was going through so much stress in my marriage that I started getting sick. I was exercising, eating well…but still I was getting sick. So much that I had a thrombosis on my leg that came out of nowhere. I’m learning to do the things that I enjoy and the things that give me peace. Thank you Sandra for your videos. Sandra your cinematography is magnificent. You make Miami Beach look fantastic. Your video today struck home. I am being hit from all sides by family and friends on how to handle placing a friend I take care of (over 20 years) either in a nursing home, independent living or an apartment with his caretaker. After 20 years in one home the owner has put it on the market and given us 60 days to move. It is quite the challenge but I am trying to tackle it day by day. Yard sale coming, belongings must go and only basics kept. I am saying prayers for Arthur and hope his recovery goes well. Your gorgeous lace blouse is so feminine and beautiful. 😎❤️💄Kathy

Hello Sandra, first and foremost I want to thank u for putting yourself out there. U r an inspiration to us women over 60. I will soon b 63 yrs old and I have to admit I have had my share of grief and I am still to this day having a horrific time trying to process death. I lost my lit'l brother when he was only 18yrs old and I was only 22 yrs old at the time. This year marks 40 yrs since his passing which left me so broken and I've seaked grief counseling on numerous occasions and I still suffer so much from his loss. And to make matters worst I lost my sweet adorable mother during COVID which left me unable to c her and spend time with her due to the fact that she was in a long term care home as she had Alzheimer's and left her so debilitated and when she passed I started struggling even more so. I can't get myself to come to terms with how I saw her lifeless body just laying there and she never got to c me before her passing as she was in palliative care for 12 days and unaware of her surroundings as only her body lay there because of her strong her. But it's the image of her that is stuck in my head and I feel guilty for not being there for her more because of how far I lived and also her not understanding why we were no longer going to c her. That breaks my soul. Having said all this (and sorry for getting carried away) I just want u to know how so very much I appreciate your videos as u inspire me every single time. U r a beautiful human with such a pure soul. U r beautiful both inside and out and u radiate it. I only wish to grow old as gracefully as u r. I would so love to meet u as I know a friendship with u would b a complete blessing. I will continue to watch your videos as u r my inspiration. Gosh bless u. 🙏. I will keep your husband and u in my prayers. We need more people like u on our planet as there is so much hate it's so so sad. So thanks for being the beautiful u. Hugs 🤗.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I hope that Arthur gets his strength back quickly. I was a caregiver for several years as my husband had a bad heart. He passed 4 years ago. I especially appreciated your comments about how important friends and family are. I would have been lost without them. Dear Sandra: I used to watch you as a child on Romper Room. There were 8 of us little ones and my dear mother, now in Heaven would set us in front of the t.v. and we were enthralled, especially with the magic mirror. Loved you then/love you now. YOU are so full of wisdom. I wish I could just sit and talk with you and ask you 100 questions. Not that you need any new subscribers, (God has blessed you immensely in that regard) but I'm going to talk about your channel and a couple others (Little Poet) in one of my upcoming videos. I follow you both. I'm 68, a few years behind you and I value what women who are what I call "farther down the road from me have to say". I'm still trying to find my way on RU-vid ... Forgot to wish Arthur well. I lost my so 6 years ago and I miss him terribly. He was 78 and died within 3 weeks. I know how hard it is but I am so glad you still have him and he is so lucky to have you! Peace be with you both!

Some of my living experiences has and still is teaching me to walk away from toxic individuals friends and family included. Thank you for this beautiful lesson this morning. I want to tell you that you look especially beautiful in this video. You and Arthur will be in my prayers. One thing I learned while my husband was sick for so long was this - don't just ask a caregiver how the other person is doing, ask them how they are doing. A caregiver has a hard job and a caring friend who asks about them is a beautiful treasure.

Sandra, I agree with you completely about friends. I was diagnosed with breast cancer this week, and if it weren’t for friends I would be dwelling on breast cancer negatively. Several Christian friends sent me emails of encouragement who have been through the process and are praying for me.

As someone in their midtwenties your words are timeless wisdom, thank you for showing the younger generation aging doesn't have to be scary, it's really helping us let go of our obsession we develope from vanity and our elders from all cultures are being robbed of their platforms when we need the mental health lessons from them more than ever and it's because social canniblism is not being treated as a historical multi generational mental health issue, how can anyone be expected to be mentally healthy when we know and are given so little about our own growth and history? Please continue to share with the youth how to have healthy relationships with their connection to life and all of its aspects ESPECIALLY the people and nature because for a lot of us who dont have a voice we are not aware how mentally ill our families and friends are conditioned to be, and when we do try to tell/talk to our families as adults they're pushing us out and telling us it's our faults for creating a divide in the family, in one form or another

You are a beautiful human and an inspiration to me. I am 38, and often contemplate my life... where I have been, where I am going, and what purpose and passion I want to pursue in my time left on this Earth. Covid really was the reality check that helped me to go down a path of self-discovery and forced me to deal with some of the internal struggles I had been experiencing. Prioritizing my physical and emotional wellbeing has become so essential for me to truly live and thrive. Thank you for such sage advice... it really is what we all need to hear and put into practice ❤️
