China is the country that looks bad on the outside until you come and have a feel of the real China. It’s not a perfect country just like every country around the world but living here for over 9 years I can boldly say it’s one of the best places to live. I’m glad for the experiences I’ve encountered on this journey in China 🇨🇳❤️

Couldn't agree more, especially about it being safe and police actually... policing. Like it's actually based on keeping everyone safe (for the most part) instead of harassing folks like I am so used to in my home country. I never feel scared walking around police, which is such an interesting feeling. My first time in Beijing I was seriously moved by the people I encountered there, very helpful and nice. Kind of felt like friendly southerners in the US.

In the US we get too used to be on high alert all the time we basically forget what relax and feeling safe is like. Love the editing of this video.

I loved EVERY minute of the 15 years I lived in China until I left in 2019. It is a WONDERFUL country and the 5 reasons you give are oh so true! However, I would say that public safety is not dependent on the existence of security cameras more than it is a cultural characteristic of the Chinese. China was still a safe place to explore and walk around in the '90s, '80s and earlier I would suggest. If I had my way, I would retire in China but that not being possible, I hope to return and visit frequently as soon as the country reopens its borders. I really miss Beijing and would love to return soon! Thanks for uploading this video. I must commend you on how perceptive you are as I found myself nodding along with your observations! Fantastic stuff!!
@AleeseLightyear
@AleeseLightyear 2 года назад
Right, I mentioned that it's also Chinese morality and ethics that make the country safe, not just the cameras. China really is a lovely place to live and explore and I'm happy to hear you had such positive experiences here too.

You are right! As a Chinese descent 🦃 we see harming other as something extremely important and bad! 🦆 You can’t harm other and if you do 🐞 In Chinese culture 🐘 you are making your family looks bad 🙊 your ancestors look bad and so on! 🦬 We know what is right and wrong 🦬 what is harmful and not harmful 🦓 It is an insult to one’s family if one harms another being or even thing! 🐄 We call it.. your family and ancestors are not good people and you guys didn’t teach well that is why you are this harmful! 🐄 It’s a cough up blood insult 🙊

Wow, this video truly brought tears to my eyes. You have done such a great job bringing out what true life is like in China, both the bad and the good! It’s such a breath of fresh air. As someone who was born in China, grew up in Canada, and now living in HK, I see the stark difference in narratives surrounding China. And what has made me so sad the last few years is all the negativity toward China and it’s people. I really wish more people back in the west can see your perspectives on China, and I’m sure you will have 100k, 200k or more subscribers in no time and get that message even more out there! Keep up the awesome work.

Thank you so much for providing your perspective on China. Although I too have shared by positive views about traveling in China I’ve been accused of being too biased about my opinions. I guess there are too many Americans that have bought in on the negative narrative about China and it’s people which is constantly being perpetuated by our politicians and media outlets.

Loving the cuisines, traditions, the people, and the sites does not equal being a shill for the communist party. China is a country I'd love to visit. And I say that as someone who strongly disagrees with the internal politics.
@user-qm1vj9gf1y
@user-qm1vj9gf1y Год назад
Her video can be said to be absolutely correct, but a lot of what the West accuses of the Communist Party is also true, and it can be said that both coexist. But you have to be clear, the Communist Party is the Communist Party, and China is China. The Communist Party is just a regime in the long history of China, nothing more。The Communist Party in China simply does not have the kind of authority that Americans imagine. Why does Xi Jinping dare not start a war against Taiwan, because he knows it. When there is no war now, those who shout slogans and others will not only not help him when he really starts a war, they will even take the opportunity to attack him🤣🤣🤣 You know that in China's historical experience, even if many wars are won, the person who started the war will not have a good outcome, because by that time everyone hates him

Thanks for sharing Aleese. Public violence is out of control and seems to be getting worse in the States. For example, Prop 47 passed in California last year, and anything under $950 is now considered a misdemeanor / petty crime rather than a felony. So stores are experiencing mass shoplifting. (Many businesses are significantly impacted losing hundreds to millions of dollars to the point of closing). Crime happens in nice, expensive neighborhoods too now that are supposed to be "safe". A few weeks ago, two dentists in an upper middle class suburb in Texas were shot and killed because they were booked and couldn't see the patient that day. Just a couple of days ago, there was a mass shooting in a subway car in Brooklyn NY. Not sure what's going on but people are on edge.

Americans are underexposed to other cultures and political systems/way of life. Your videos show we all need to be more open minded on not only different cultures but also different ways of life and different systems of government. Pros and cons of everything of course but ppl should be more respectful of how others live and govern.

A mystery INDEED! Sometimes I think that maybe people care more about quality of the garment rather than what's written on it! Some of my students who speak English wear jackets that say "Bucket" or "Fishion Grl" and they don't even realize the mistakes or randomness! My dream job in China would be to travel the country, correcting all the miss-spelled signs and consult for clothing companies that want to make items with English on them to make sure it's correct.

I've loved watching your journey because you show the good and the bad. Its like a really good medium of representation. And some of the places you went I know not to go to (iykyk.) Which was so crazy to me because my tutor was from there. But I believe what I you said but anywho glad to see another video.

Again you portrayed a very realistic picture of China. Coming from South Africa, where the crime rate is ridiculously high and safe public transportation is almost non-existent, I really do appreciate how safe, affordable and convenient travelling in China is.

Can't say that I'm a fan of their content, but I am familiar with that series of them on their bikes exploring the country. Seemed like the ultimate adventure!

It seems the pros outweigh the cons, so you still live in China now. Whenever you have free time, please travel to my native Vietnam. Vietnamese society is similar to Chinese society but it seems more freedom than China because you can access RU-vid, Facebook and other social medias. I enjoy your videos, I hope the best your adventures.

Baby that’s not about freedom, that’s because all social media platforms are controlled by USA , except China . China is a the only country outside of America where own the internet sovereignty. The English world full of lies about China, you can’t find truth from there about China

You are totally right-- the pros outweigh the cons! So my life is filled with happiness!! I have traveled to Vietnam in 2019, to Hanoi and I loved it so much!! This was before I started vlogging. I spent a day with a local family and went fishing with them and then helped them prepare dinner. I would say my favorite things were the food, the beautiful landscape and the hospitality of the people!! I hope that I can come back to see more of your lovely country soon!
