Hearing that Calvin never cameback actually made me tear up, the dog did everything to defend it's owner. in all honesty I hope the Dog did not pass away and is living a great life. Dogs are best, at anytime willing to do anything to protect their owners at all costs.

My uncle used to have this rottweiler named zeus, and one time someone tried breaking into his house through a first floor window. Zeus heard the crash, ran to the room and started attacking the guy, the guy jumped back out of the window trying to get away and zeus jumped out after him. He called the cops and zeus had the guy pinned down growling at him outside untill the cops arrived, and the man was arrested.

Sorry for the loss of Calvin. My mom had a similar experience with our beloved family German Shepard. She saved her from a guy with really bad intentions that was walking toward her and the dog, late one evening. He kept trying to talk to my mom as he came closer and closer to her. The dog growled and bared all her teeth and the weirdo turned back and walked away.

That's the last time I tell my dog "leave me alone".

There was an incident a couple years ago where I was staying at my dads place for the weekend. He had a pitbull named Xena (she would later come to live with me and my mom but thats another story entirely) and she was very gentle and basically a big ol marshmallow. On one night my dad left the house without telling me and I was completely alone all night with Xena. She stayed with me the entire time escpecially when I noticed my dad was gone and started crying (as a little kid I panicked because I was just all alone in a big quiet house all of a sudden). She sat with me while I calmed myself down and maybe an hour later I was coloring at the kitchen table with Xena laying on the floor next to me when all of a sudden she started growling and staring at the window. There was a guy trying to open it and he was staring right at me with wide eyes (I'm pretty sure he was on something). Xena got up and started snarling and barking like a rabid dog at the guy and she jumped at the window, actually managing to crack it. The guy must've decided he didnt feel like getting mauled that night and ran off. I locked myself in the bathroom with Xena until my dad came back a few hours later (the sun was already coming up by then). He really didnt care that much about what happened when I told him, he was more upset that Xena cracked the window when she jumped at it. My mom was pissed at him for leaving me alone for so long and she didn't make me go over to spend time with him anymore. Xena ended up living with me and my mom some time after that and she passed away of old age in her sleep a month ago.

I hope Calvin found another home and lived his best life ❤️

They did a study and found that it's kind of rare for a dog to aggressively protect their owners against other people. Typically, people train their house dogs to be friendly around visitors etc, so the dog just assumes they're another guest. But the study also found that when a dog is a good guard dog, they're ride or die...the absolute least thing you would ever want to be on the wrong side of.

This is why I have several dogs. They are the best security system. They can sense even when something is outside your house. My dogs have saved me from dangerous situations more than a few times. Even a small dog can alert you to something even if they can't fight someone off. At least they can sound an alarm by barking. Chihuahuas are great for noise makers. Paired up with a Pit or a Rottie or any large dog makes a great security system.

My dog , who was a 6 month old puppy at the time , charged at a man who tried to aggress me in the street . She isn’t a large breed dog but he jumped straight into the man’s face and the man took off running . I am forever grateful to my dog and I will never , ever live without a dog,

My dog didn't save my life or anything, but he did alert me to what I swear to this day was paranormal activity. My family lived in a rental home for a bit while our house was being rebuilt after a fire. My dog, a border collie aussie, would always sleep at the foot of my bed with me. He's a real sweetheart and never bites or barks unless he's stressed or scared. One night, he was standing by my door growling. I usually slept with my door open because I was scared of being trapped, and the dog liked to walk in and out during the night. This night, the door kept swinging back and forth. This was a little creepy and unnerving to me, but I just blamed it on a draft and my vent (which was near the door) pushing the door back and forth. That was until my dog started following something from my door, growling and snapping as he walked around the room, then back to the door a few times. He wasn't looking at the ground, he was looking up at something. Nothing happened to me, but I was too scared to move. Once whatever this thing was left my room, he laid down back on my bed and kept his eyes on the door. Neither of us slept the rest of the night. I turned on my lamp and closed my door before just playing some Minecraft to get my mind off of it. Everyone in my family has a story from that rental house. That story and one other about my brother are the two that still scare me to this day

Calvin gave his life for that boy so brave, inused to live on a farm always felt safe as we had 5 dogs on site who roamed the property at night, one night they was barking up by the main get at the horse livery main building we walked up about 2am, nothing was there, next day checked the cctv next morning there we seen 3 masked men on the roof of the livery
