4 STAGE PRACTICE METHOD - STAGE 2: by Mike Johnston 

The amount of passion I saw in Mike when he brought people up and had them play was amazing. You can really tell how down to earth he is and how much he loves educating people regardless of skill. He just wants to see students challenge themselves and try new things, and have fun. This is why I respect him so much.

Hands down Mike is one of the best music teachers ever! Thank God he doesn't play guitar!!!

There a fuel that feeds the soul of a genuine teacher. It's the passion they get from watching someone learn something they didn't know before they met them. It's the student coming back to show the discipline they applied to achieve the goal put before them. This man is genuine, he is passionate about taking his students to the level they never thought they could get to, and it is evident. This gave me chills and obviously I had to hit the kit with this practice method. Thanks Mike!

Stage 2-CREATIVE (10 mins) Mike Johnson Warm up your mind Create a parameter Basic groove Basic on bass drum 16ths ghost, play with accents Quarter note challenge Play nothing but quarter notes on rim knocks with you left hand and improvise on everything else. Sit inside a parameter and create.*

The sound of these drums is so good that makes me happy! Looking forward for the rest of the stages!

Very inspiring and motivating. I've been watching Mike for about a decade and it seems he always has something more to offer. He has truly advanced the field of drumming! Such an awesome accomplishment.

I used to teach. It sucks! I give you all the credit in the world. The patience required for kids that won't study or have no attention span or have no talent. Hats off to you.
