thank you ...i use to listen to this pucker .dr,berg ...he says steiva would not affect insulin resistance .people like him should not be talking about intermittent fasting ,should stays in big pharma pocket .
It has been a while since I checked in but I want to let your newer audience know how your advice helped me. I have been following you for a little over 2 years. At that time I had been on Metformin for around 5 years and it didn't seem to even slow down my A1C from rising. I know now, that was due to my diet. Following your advice, I dropped my A1C from 8.5 to 5.3. My Doctor decreased my medication and eventually took me off of it the first of this year. She advised me to take it as needed (ie: eating a high carb meal) My waking BG is 115 or less and I managed to loose around 60 pounds. I have been doing Intermittent fasting from the beginning and I attribute IF to help me quit snaking. I just want others to know it can work. It won't happen over night, but stick with it and you will see results. Thanks Kait.
@@HealthCoachKaitthis was the best!! Love your info/reminders and I’m 81. I had Covid a few weeks ago and I’m still walking slower(I’m sure I lost muscle lying in bed) but walking down steps, walking outside, qigong and yoga. Waiting to use my body for squats and push-ups! ;) thanks so much Kait!!!!
I worked with a very expensive circadian rhythm doctor who confirmed the same- sunlight at sunrise and did it for several months to gain my health back and can confirm it works!
✨❤️All summer I’ve gotten up, put on walking clothes, drink a glass of water and go for a 30 min walk. No issues falling asleep….now post menopause staying asleep is a different matter…any tips are appreciated ❤️✨
Maybe try listening to frequencies that help you sleep. There are many channels on youtube that make amazing sleeping sound videos. I personally love Phi Tribe account on youtube I sleep to there music every night and I now never have trouble sleeping. I love most of their videos but my favorite is the frequencies with rain playlist :)
I have been insulin Resistance most of my life, as my mother told me in me after 50+ years it was a family trait on her side. The thirst is the worst for me and having struggled with Mental Health issues from an early age, this doesn't help. I have all those symptoms on your chart/picture for signs of Insulin Resistance and got the struggle of waist spread in my early 20's but managed to combat that via exercise and military service, but since my Skeletal injuries, most of my joints, and more complex Mental issues, I have really struggled to keep check of myself over the past 10 years. Thanks for the advice and help on this subject and I hope to implement most of this advice. I think growing up in a low income household, most of our meals were carb based mainly potato/bread, to keep us feeling like we had been fed, and as kids of my age, we were always outside playing. Old habits in food consumption are harder to loose.
I’m working my way through similar issues, it’s not easy - good luck! I’ve experienced relief by fasting and following the Carnivore diet, and now and starting to learn about the “why” it works (am thrilled I found this channel!). Fasting & Carnivore dramatically & quickly reduced pain, anxiety and inflammation for me - but I think I need to find a life long solution to managing my diet/ life. If you’d like to learn more about the science behind the of fasting, keto, carnivore, inflammation & insulin (& related hormones), I’ve found these channels helpful: Dr Annette Bosworth (she focuses on keto, inflammation, weight loss... got into this when her mother was diagnosed with cancer) Dr Mindy Pelz (she focuses on the healing benefits of fasting, a ketobiotic diet and how it impacts all of our hormones - including insulin, cortisol, etc) Pottingers Human (this man does a great job of explaining peer reviewed, published medical articles about various health topics - makes all of that “science talk” easy to understand for “the common person” - this has helped me feel more confident in making some of my own health care decisions)
There may be something to that sunrise thing.....a couple of days ago, I awakened about 10 minutes prior to sunrise. I have a Lanai and you can see direct east from it. I sat and literally watched the sun rise (beautiful and peaceful) until it was too bright to look at directly. Don't know if it was coincidence but I slept like a baby that night.
You've explained it so well. Thank you. I was on a keto diet in the past and noticed a lot of benefits. My skin was very good, I lost a lot of weight, had plenty of energy. I wanted to start Carnival, but I need to do more research :)
Kate sums up all aspects and makes it so simple. She doesn't miss any of the important points, and makes connections that you don't often hear about. One of my favorite videos. Sharing widely. Thank you health coach Kait!
Yeah, Snacks control helped me a lot. This works for loosing weight and Diabetes. Just 2 meals a day helped me reducing waist from 36 to 34 within 6 weeks. And feel fresh.
Hi Kate! I'm new to your channel and I want to give you a quick THANKS!!! The tools and information you've given absolutely work! I love to cook (and eat obviously lol) and have learned there are healthy foods that are delicious!
Health Coach Kait thank you so much for this!!!! You are a blessing from God. I also want to say that the Good Drink company is awesome! I called and had a great conversation and he helped me so much!!!
New to channel, just subbed. Great information, my baseline A1C was 6.5, I started high fat/protien, low carb 60 days ago. Kind of a dirty carnivore more than keto. Due to extreme inflammation and gout the on my feet excercise is limited. If i have appropriate inflammation from walking and stairs I have flare ups. Overall I'm happy with how I feel compared to 60 days ago. Also 60 days sober. Glad I found you. Oh and just in case no one has said it before you are extremely easy on the eyes.
Great video Kait!! Love it as always!! Just wondering if you didn’t mind doing a video on nutrients that we might not always get and how we can get them either through food or supplements like a multi vitamin pleae if u get a chance❤
So dont have any type pf diabetes..but diabetes runs in my family.. i am definitely overweight.. and i have a dark neck so its concerning me and i want to do something about it and your videos are definitely helping me
Glad you are finding my videos helpful! The dark skin around your neck could definately be a sign of insulin resistance so it is good you are taking action before it progresses!
Start from the beginning of my insulin resistance playlist 🙂 These ones I have really simplified concepts/steps to take! ru-vid.com/group/PLIbNqAvOU7jO5HcZ-NYxqFexqftny66Om
I went from 13 to a 5 in about a year. I just greatly reduced processed food consumption. Most of my food was fatty meat and eggs, and I would eat a decent amount of fruit a few days a week.
Thanks Kait for this video.. Been awhile since I been on your channel. Love the new hair. do I take chromium with the meal to prevent blood sugar spikes?
Thank u so much if it wasn't for u my naturopath would not have detected insulin resistance. I am having major problems with eating. I am gf,dairy, coconut, egg free. I am hunger. Not sure what to eat. She has put me on keto @20/ carbs/ day. I am in Ontario Canada. Any ideas as to what to eat for carbs? I can't even come close to my calorie intake for day.. 😢😢
Hahahaha you just answered the question that's been in my mind whether I can get a benefit facing the sun in the window😂. Ok gotta go out of the house.
Would you say that intermittent fasting helps with reversing insulin resistance? It seems the answer is all over the place and I have read many different medical journals; each one either says yes or no.
Hello, thank you for your tips, I have a question though. I am a big fan of caffe latte, and I drink a large one from morning till noon, it has 3.5% fat milk, and sweetners, should I stop this routine? Is that coffee making my glycemia spike constantly ? Thank you so much
I menaged everything, but no 2 is my big problem...hot flashes wake me up all nights long (over 3 years now), so I don't sleep more than 4 hours all together every night.
@@HealthCoachKait yes. 😟 I can't take HRT because I was on hormones (birth control pills) almost 30 years in past, and my mum had three various cancers and three strokes...so hormones aren't safe for me. I'm on keto, carnivore and intermittement fasting last 7 years, but that don't help with hot flashes at all. Sorry for my bad English, it isn't my domestic language.
hello! i am confused about the snacking advice. i have been informed of the opposite. doctors advise snacking to avoid spikes of having 3 big meals, breaking them into 5 or 6 meals prevents huge peaks and troughs. please advise?
Snacking can help control blood sugar but it is a band-aid fix. What I am talking about in this video is how to reverse insulin resistance. 2-3 adequate meals with enough protein and no snacking in between in the best approach.
@@kimk8869 generally most people find it works well if they take 1tbsp (diluted in water) either in the morning or before bed, and then also have it before meals that are higher in carbs. If you are eating a low carb meal it's not necessary 🙂
Such a great video thanks from London 🇬🇧... I've got a few questions.. If I've done a vigorous exercise workout I find the next day I'm always craving carbs and sweet stuff, I normally have eggs on toast (brown bread).. I do have a few sweet cream biscuits a hour later as a snack.. Then lunch time will consist of a chicken or egg sandwich (brown bread) I've noticed I get into a hyperglycaemia state by late afternoon. Or I start feeling depressed tired and down, I then binge on chocolate bars... Its more noticeable on the days after I exercise.... Also even though I'm in this state when I go home I can still do a cardio/hiit workout... I'm really confused why this is happening.. Any advice?... Thanks
Snacking... interesting. Snacking in general means simple things like candy bars and chips. On a 2000 calorie diet, it is impossible to get enough protein and calories for the day on 3 meals. Try it. You'll have a PILE of food in front of you for 3 meals. For someone like myself, whose BMT is close to 2400, 4 meals is the lowest limit. The meals are massively challenging to get through, and I can still get enough food for the day. I actually became insulin resistant through training. I had to eat food 6 times/day to get enough protein and calories without sitting and stuffing myself. When the pandemic closed gyms and ice rinks, I crashed hard. Not because I wasn't still exercising. But I couldn't lift the same or train the same as before. My glucose started ro elevate and inflammation started taking joints. Then MMP9 inflammation kicked in and no matter how much I exercised, my muscles and tissue died. Weight training is now impossible. The muscles in my pecs, shoulders back and entire right arm tore away and are now just clumps under my armpit, or rolled up into my shoulder. My right leg came entirely apart and my neck muscles tore sleeping. Insulin resistance went undiagnosed for 2 years, with specialities telling each other it was there problem, while visceral fat got worse and worse despite old efforts and plans that worked for years.
I’ve seen sources state that doing intermittent fasting for insulin resistance folks can help lose weight more effectively. Could this be true? Maybe make a video ?
Hello Kait, in your opinion if I’m gaining weight on carnivore should I up my fat and lower my protein🤔Some say excess protein will spike blood sugar even with no carbs🤔Thanks
Kait plz make a video on how much fat is Normal fr women! I get really stressed wen I see evn an inch of fat on myself nd start to hv tendency towards bulimia 😖😖
Random question/observation but you are one of a very few people I watch that doesn’t appear to be reading the information in your videos. Is this easy stuff for you to teach?
I've been researching the animal based diet by that one Dr guy lol can't remember his names but he eats meat, fruits and honey. What do you think about that? I've tried keto after pregnancy when I was so successful with it before pregnancy and now it's like I can't fully function on keto at all. So I'm curious to try animal based because I do not do well with processed foods.
What about them? Ice cream and chocolate are both very high carb and sugar, low-moderate fat and low protein. It will require a lot of insulin to process. Ideally you want to have foods like this only once in awhile. Taking ACV or chromium before can help to lower the blood sugar/insulin spike.
Thanks Kait I gotta at least cut down on them, eating 4 or 5 of them each day is probably not the best. 3 roast potatoes with tea too. Otherwise I try to limit carbs lol.
@@HeavySmoker22 haha I feel you! Ice cream is one of my favourite foods 😂 I worked at Dairy Queen during high school and it was a struggle to resist haha
Kait I've been following you for quite some time. I have a question for you and I know that you can't answer it definitively. But here goes...When I was working I worked physically very hard. Hard enough that I was able to retire at 53 years old. I'm now 62. In the last year or so I have developed what seems to be an allergic reaction to Sugar, Eggs, Chocolate, Pork loin, Chicken, Coffee (to include Decaf). I have never in my life been allergic to anything. Could all of this be because of my insulin Resistance? I'm still active, but not as active as I once was and I'm thinking with loosing some muscle mass that it might be helping with the allergic reactions. Each reaction is a little different from the others and none of them seem to be of the life threatening nature, except for the sugar which speeds my heart up to about 130. There seems to be other things that will give me some inflammation as I will give me a very stuffy nose but I don't know what causes it. So is it possible that My body is just fighting back against the Insulin Resistance and if I can get it under control some of it might in fact go away? Thanks, Todd Stutzman
I’m so glad I found this channel- just when I needed it!!! I can’t wait to see more of your work!!! For once the YT algorithms sent something relevant to me (not another cat video!) 😂😂😂😂
I’m up before sunrise and have already started my day before the sun is up so the suggestion to go outside in the morning doesn’t work with my schedule.
I’m 61 now,September be 62 I’m just now having glucose to be 117 120 I’m not diabetic but dr say on the verge need medicine but I want to lose weight eat healthy and get sugar to normal again help Kait I need a advice on how to eat lose weight I been diagnose to have gatroparesis last year I drink Dr Pepper a lot through day but trying to cut down to one a day or none I can’t eat eggs that make me sick they don’t stay down when I eat them .those numbers are nothing in morning to eat
It has malic and little quantities of citric acid, if that's happening to you and gives you joint pain isn't that what gout does when you have citric acid? I'd look into it
My blood glucose rised again KAIT, above 100 even with fasting. I successfully brought it down to the 80s, even 70s sometimes but now it's over 100. I blame on sleep late, very late at night and so eating late too. I noticed it started happening when I recently swim an hour, 5 days a week the past 2 months. I heard swimming rise blood glucose and also continuously eat late sleep late, even I make 8-9 hours good sleep. I thought when I increase working out activities I should eat more and less fasting to prevent calories deficits. I feel good doing so but very concern the blood sugar. I was prediabetic, beat it and now it's back again. Forgot to tell you I also started drinking raw milk to improve my weight cas my BMI was too low at 18. Now it's back to normal beside the blood test I am not happy to see in the morning . Am 70 and from many websites said seniors blood glucose levels are not same as at younger age. Wonder if it's correct. But I want back the 80s, 90s reading at least. Please advise. Very appreciate your feedback 💕
I know sleep is important, but try telling that to our employers who insist on making people come back to the office to justify paying their commercial office space rents.
