A narcissist will act as if they’re feeling the same way.
This mirroring of emotions is done to create a false sense of empathy.
It makes you think, “They really get me.”
The catch?
Their understanding and shared emotions are not genuine.
They’re simply reflecting your feelings at you to make you feel seen and understood.
3.) They Reflect Your Aspirations and Dreams
For example, if you’re aiming for a particular career goal, they suddenly have similar ambitions.
This tactic makes you feel like you’re on the same path, with someone who not only understands your dreams but shares them.
By mirroring your aspirations, they position themselves as indispensable to your life’s journey, manipulating you into relying on them for emotional support and guidance.
This dependency then becomes a tool for control, as they subtly steer you in ways that benefit them, leveraging your shared dreams as a means to manipulate and exploit your trust.
4.) They Mimic Your Values and Moral Beliefs
If you hold certain principles close to your heart, like honesty, kindness, or a commitment to social causes, they will start professing similar values.
They do this not because they genuinely share your convictions but to create an illusion of moral compatibility.
This tactic makes you see them as morally aligned with you, someone who not only understands your worldview but also lives by it.
