Would definitely like to build something from scratch myself. Open a set of lights and be able to make them completely unique... I love that there are guys like yourself who teach and give ideas and inspiration. Keep up the great work 👍🏼👍🏼
Wth. This is awesome. As a car person, i always wondered if there were people out there who did lights, cause really, no one really does when it comes to modding cars. Always just power, bodywork, and chassis builds.
Love this dude 💚 makes a lot of cool stuff 😎 if tuning isn't enough just be different 💜 still happy with the build GTR headlights and stoked on what's coming up next 😁
I subscribed to your channel just for the fact you are willing to teach others and benefit your family at the same time. Its just a drop in the bucket but i wish you success on it!
I have my moments, lol. Sometimes I push back against being helpful when I think people suck and don’t deserve the help 🤣🤣🤣. Just a normal dude, but i AM humbled that you’d like to learn from me 🙏
Hey Chris, I found you last week while searching for an expert in the field of headlight modifications. I was really searching for a guru to lead me to a proper high quality manufacturer of a high quality halos and preferably a set of iconic halos to upgrade my 2007 ore LCI e60 BMW 550i. If it goes well I’ll tackle my wife’s e90 3 Series. I’m glad I found you. I have watched hundreds of hours of your channel so far. I have the knowledge to follow your fast talking self lol, but the ability to solder those tiny ribbons and wires onto little circuit boards. I just don’t have that skill set. You make it look like child’s play. I’ve picked up several pointers that are going to make my builds easier.I had a lot of the tools already, but I’ve also gone out and bought a few that you’ve recommended. Anyhow, I don’t plan on making a business of this, I just want to build a few sets of lights in my own vehicles . I can’t afford it at this very moment, but I’m buying your black hoodie through Spring. I’ve spent a few bucks on tools this week and I’m disabled. I really have to budget things out. I’ll keep watching and learning while you keep putting out the DOPE vlogs. I’m east of Raleigh, North Carolina. It’s funny how the internet can bring people together.
Chris, thank you for the breakdown categories. This, as usual, is helpful. I would like to, for myself, build them have the drop in built. Like what your Volvo person (Tom?) Is doing. Thanks!
I love that the United States has laws against some sequential turn signals because there isn't a large enough potion lit initially, yet it's totally cool to just have the red brake light also turn off and double as a signal 🤦♂️ Soon I'll be adding a second set of amber lights to my Chevy S10 for separate turn signals. Always hated brake/turn combo tails.
Try to hunt a set of brazilian s10 tailights if you can. They have a seperate amber lens built into the housing. It requires and additional socket than the US s10 tailights though.
@@furgulley8077 I love the Brazilian market S10 lights! If I didn't already have a set of old school oem style clear tails I'd definitely be after a set of those.
I will never understand why we have never required all indicators, front AND rear to be amber. The safety aspect is a no-brainer. All of the British cars I have owned I have fitted the UK-spec amber rear indicator lenses and am in the middle of doing it again on the series 1 XJ6 I recently picked up.
Signal Stat 900’s have been around for a loooong time. They’re the old metal turn signal switches with wiring inside to use brake lights as turn signals even with brakes applied. I believe modern ones are a hold-over from those days. On a lot of semi trucks, they’re still that way. I don’t have a problem with it.
One thing I tried on the center light strip on a dodge vehicle was buying the trailer wiring harness for my car and putting some of those light strips that people put on the back of their truck bed in the tail light housing. Depending on the vehicle there was a slight delay with the actual corner markers on the vehicle
I have a 1979 Pontiac firebird trans am and like the look of sequential taillights but I like the look of the lights that you have on your presentation that are the factory ones. I want to learn how to get that look as I restore cars as a hobby.
Im the total diy guy thats why I thank God everyday for the oppertunity you granted to learn the diy side of things! LIGHTSMEN TO THE WORLD 💚💚💚💚@FLYRYDE @LIGHTSMENACADEMY
Love your videos. Only wosh i was patient and had time tontackle this on my own. Serious question..... Do you or any of your pals do custom tail lights. Looking for someone to do a project for my gen 2 toyota sequoia.
I have the corso motion ones you showed. I have the red and amber fur the tail lights and white and amber fur headlights. But j sunt want to spend a lot of time soldering resistors and all that in there. I'm thinking and wondering if it will work where I take the corso led and a 20 dollar sequential strip from Amazon and heat up and take off the cheap led and solder on there the corso. That way i have the sequence set up for turn signal and have the resistors on there. I tried it and it lit up but only did one. Dont know how long it would last though and if it will work if I do to whole strip.
Got a set of spyder tail lights for my truck I’m looking to add sequential tail lights too. I’m opening them up anyways to paint them and do led reverse cubes. What’s the best way to add the sequential signals, by best what way would I go about it to get a true plug and play set up while using the led boards that come in the tail lights
i’m probably going to try and copy the factory board but separate the grounds out individually to be able to program them but i need to figure out how to work with red/amber bi-color LEDs
I would really like to get into doing this i have built cars all my life I do custom interior work, body work, wiring, and engine work, im more into custom stuff that nobody has I like being different. Im an artist and creator so I don't think it would take long for me to learn all this is there somewhere I can go to do that
Factory would be nice, drop in is cool, hijacking the stock equipment is always awesome, I love modifying things , custom all the way, I'd build my own car and house if I could, heck I'd even build a body for my self if possible! 😆
Can you show how to change the Break and Turn signal Blub on the rear Of 1964 Buick Skylark rear break , turn signal lights to Sequential LEDs lights????
How to make red plastic turn into clear plastic? You just need a red pigment sucker. It’s a kind of plecostomus. You’ll have to fill up a bathtub with water, and soak the lights for 3 days, then add at least 4 of the fish to the mix and they’ll... just kidding. You can’t make colored plastic clear.
I’ve heard that so many times it’s crazy. Somebody needs to start a Road Glide specific custom lighting business. I’m 100% not gonna do it, but clearly there’s a demand for it.
FlyRyde good looks man, also I placed an order like 10 days ago from corsomotion. just curious does it usually take this long for you? they haven’t even shipped it lol
There is a problem with these DIY sequential turn signals. They always start with the running sequence first. If you then just press the turn signal lever quickly and release immediately, only a small part of the turn signals will light up and go out. On all cars that are delivered with sequential turn signals from the factory, they always start with the entire turn signal light up, then the sequence starts flashing. If it not light up the entire turn signal, it can cause serious accidents.
Yes I see the wrx. And I wait every day for the video 😭😭😭 I opened my tail lights the other day. Lmfao. I also joined 301 I wanna modify the factory board I’m not into the premade that everyone has. I wanna be different
Did you!! That’s awesome bro, make sure to message me on IG. I want to get your feedback and work directly with you to make sure you get a dope outcome 🙌
I'm from South America... can i send up a pair of tail lights for you to customize for me?? Or if you can put me on to a professional shop that's trustworthy i'd highly appreciate. Thing is, we get MOSTLY (like 92% of our cars down here 🇬🇾 Guyana) japanese cars here and the one i'm working on is a Toyota GF-AT212 but i can't seem to find any modded lights for it anywhere. I'd buy the headlights and the tail lights n ship it up to you (or whoever) and hve them work on it. And when they're finished hve them ship it to my bro's address in Pennsylvania and he'd ship it bk to me. Ofc i'd need to know the cost first... idk if you can assist, thanks.
Thanks Leon. Truthfully I have way more work than I can handle. What’d make me REALLY happy is if my videos help someone else to produce awesome lights, that would be able to take on jobs from dudes like you 👌
Yea I saw that during the pans around the garage, I’m sure they aren’t just for decoration. Wondering if you’ve worked on any newer Ford lights recently?
I am all about customization. Im an artist and im not afraid to get meticulous with detail especially when it contributes to that omgidkwtf factor! My thing is that there is, as with many projects i take on, endless possibility. I spread myself soooooo thin! I have taken 8 years on 1 painting. I have also put countless man hours into attempting to solder and cant even produce 1 successful connection. Theres soooo much to learn and its kinda overwhelming. My 02 lancer can testify that i can do amazing things but i may be in over my head with these headlights. I mean, they look like the ass of a thousand anuses. Smh
You could make good money fixing peoples led tail lights that’s are not working properly. I had to pay $300 for a 2018 Chevrolet traverse rear right tail light not including labor. Due to the fact that there is no lightbulb you can just replace. Although it does have an LED piece that can be replaced if the part was available. I have a video in my channel if you wanna take a look at it you might be able to fix them and sell them on eBay.
They should be banned, there's a brief period when if you look at the car quickly you won't see that they're indicating, because of the time it takes to fully illuminate. That can cause MAJOR accidents. Bad news. 👎🏻
