lol at the people acting like a 400ex is as fast as a raptor. Thats a joke. I had ridden both long before I got my 660r and the 660 is a lot faster. The 400ex is fast just not as fast a 660r
SharpStuff112 I have the 660r the 700 and 440ex and the 440 ex will beat the 660r and is comparable to the 700 except top end, however the chassis of the 440ex is far superior to that raptor line, whip right around and corner like a dream as opposed to the ackward top heavy raptor, I bought the 700 for myself and the 660 for the wife but she was nervous of the 660 so I picked up a 400ex and had the 440 big bore kit installed and I have to say she loves it and in all honesty it is more fun to ride than the raptor line, it just feels good.
I own a 400ex, This is a joke. The raptor has a 260cc advantage, Thats a extra motor. Put them on MX a track or a GNCC track and see who fairs better. It doesn't take a mental giant to go straight, Its the turns and obstacles that show skill
miked90123 that’s not a valid point cuz we’re trying to figure out what’s the better machine here, I think that if the raptor had the same rider as on the ex then the raptor would possibly fair better once again
As a owner of the 440ex 660r and 700r I would take the 440 ex on track or trail 10/10 times, the raptors are power machines but the chassis leaves a lot to be desired, too heavy and corner like shit.
Last week I raced a 660, I hope I got it on my gopro but I can't remember if I did or not. But he beat me my front tires were at his foot pegs. We were at Durham town on the drag strip. Mine has pro circuit slip on, Jett, k&n lid off, 14 tooth front sprocket. But I believe his was stock, maybe a slip on. Those raptors are just so heavy. My dad has one bored over to a 686 so basically it's a 700 with more compression.
The guy on the 400ex does not know how to ride, he needs to be starting in 2nd gear. The 400ex has plenty of power to start in 2nd, and it wouldn't pull as much of a wheelie off the start. Better Take off.
I raced a bone stock 660 with a slip on with my 07 Raptor 350 se2. High compression 348cc wiseco piston, uni 2 stage with lid off, Sigma 6 Racing Stage 3 Jet Kit (147 Main and a 25 pilot 2 1/2 turns out), DG O Series slip on, Procom CDI, Procom Rectifier, 14 tooth moose racing sprocket and 22" bearclaws with 23" fronts to match. EBC Kevlar clutch kit and RM Stator high current stator. and it will stomp it
Don't get me wrong. The 400ex is an AMAZING bike. And if my history is correct... It jump started the sports bike industry in the late 90s. But let's be honest anyone who thinks their 400ex will beat a raptor 660 with equal mods is downright crazy. Heck you can throw a pipe and etc. on it and the rappy 660 will still devour it
Nero Fluidis 440ex will whoop that 660r but minus displacement the 400ex chassis is far superior to the top heavy raptor. No bias here I own a 440ex 660r 700. The ex is a better ride regardless of displacement.
Tippsy machines, as a owner of a 440ex 660r 700r the 440ex will beat my 660r and is comparable to the 700 but too end 700 pulls away not massive, but on the trails and for an all around more comfortable natural ride I’d take my 440ex everytine.
my 400ex keeps up with raptors with no mods to the motor, just an over rev cdi box and im running a 15 tooth frnt sprocket and a 33 tooth rear. 5th gear is sooooo long on it. but when i go hill climbing i use a 14 tooth frnt sprocket.... way fast for a 400ex.... love it!!!!1
Of course the raptor would win its a 660 lol but I own a 08 400ex stock and if you put that raptor around ANY trails or tracks i would dust it their too heavy and its hard to get them around corners fast enough, when they made the raptor they pretty much said screw the sport atv purpose lets just make it fast in a straight line lol, and this is coming from someone who loves drag racing
Lol I've ridden both a bored out 400 and a raptor 660 the raptor is a lot faster stop getting so butthurt bc you're slower! the raptor isn't even that much heavier LMFAO
TheSwanster a 660r is not faster than 440ex! I own both and although not a lot faster it is faster than the 660r but might I add if you take on a track or trail the 440ex will smoke the raptor line, Honda got the chassis right! The raptor line high center of gravity and just feels terrible, better be prepared to lean your ass off and know when and when no to mash
