***Read this first*** *First:* No this is NOT replacing the main 40K Theories series, this is a supplementary series. *Second:* Yes I know I have glossed over a lot of the specific details, but as stated this is meant to be more of an introductory video to newcomers to ease them in gently without being overwhelming. *Third:* Specific topics will be covered in greater detail such as the history of the Imperium, who the Space Marines are (Including the different chapters) etc in their own specific videos. *Fourth:* The first few videos of this series will be brief overviews of each faction, again to ease newcomers to the lore gently in without overwhelming them. While the content of these videos may not be giving much to hardcore 40K lore buffs, we hope that those new to the fandom can learn something and enjoy. Thank You.

Glad to hear the normal 40k theories stuff is continuing. There are many questions about the nature of the warp and existence after death that need to be addressed. Here's a thought for the day: a quote from the novel Deathfire made by Salamander librarian, Ushamann, to the shipmaster, Abyssian, who is considering giving up his soul to a daemon. "There is no surrender for you or I, shipmaster. A soul is not consumed and then at peace. It will burn forever in eternal torment." So there we have it - more evidence that every human with a soul suffers for eternity in the warp after death. Consumption by a daemon means to suffer eternally at its hands, which is consistent with Eldar souls being consumed by Slaanesh and then suffering for eternity.

So, there's two all-female military factions (Sisters of Silence & Sisters of Battle) and two all-male military factions (Space Marines & Custodians). ...so, uhm... ...why was there a thing about that before?

One funny thing that happened to me in my current Stellaris game is that Mars turned out to be an agri-world.

there's some stuff I didn't know about the imperium but hopefully your newcomer series will be a success ( p.s even though the emperor isn't simular to God in real life but he still has powers )

tl;dw The best faction ever.

Not strictly a question about history so much as general lore, but this has been bugging me since forever. Psykers are the future, right? Big E was trying to shepherd us through our transition into something more like him, evolving into 'the new man' by the long and painful route his creation shortcut through millennia before. So why the hell does everything (even the bits the Emperor personally mandated while he was still... fleshy) about the Imperium seem purpose-built to kill, neuter, cage and waste Psychics at every available opportunity? Seriously, from the look of things I'd say it's incredibly rare for a Psyker to ever reproduce. That's a real crappy way to guide Mankind through their evolution, if you ask me.

I gotta admit this is probably the best explaining lore about 40K cuz it's like a history documentary in a way perfect for newcomers I will it recommended to a few friends who have been slightly interested in it I tried explaining the lore once but I'm no Arch or you or other people who are lore Wizards I'm just a 17 year old with big least an a intermediate/just about to get to expert level of knowledge and not the greatest at explaining things so yeah PS is there an actual name for the Imperial Navy that's adeptus and some other word because it feels like an odd man out at least to me

i have 2 questions about the iron halos, i know that these nifty things can reduce the force of anything that comes in it field even some energy attack, first off, can a space marine have multiple halos(like say 3 one where you'd expect the halo and 2 attached to the shoulder pads) and would the power of the field be stronger, larger, or more efficient in what it does, second thing can it be used like a weapon, it uses a gravity field that improves defense almost similar to power weapons, could the halo be used to improve the striking force of melee strikes. i'm just wondering

I never paid attention to this before but the solar segmentum is located in an area of the milky way galaxy that is completely different from where non fiction analysis & science says earth is located in the milky way galaxy. Earth is supposed to be located on the Orion spur. Where as in 40k, terra does not look to be located on the Orion spur. Even still it may be close. This may in fact conclude that 40k does not exist within in the same linear dimension of time as our earth. This would explain why physics in 40k are different from our form of physics, it would also explain why 40k describes the galaxy in the form of east or west. In our dimension, because the universe is dynamic and not static there is no 2 dimensional concept of east and west in outer space. Where as in 40k there is a constant north, eastern Fringe, and so on. Thanks again for the video. This has stood out to me today more than before. For those that argue that 40k exists in the same linear dimension of time as our own earth, I suppose they could argue that the earth, galaxy, or universe has taken some type of shift or change in the future that defies the current rules of physics.

While this covers a lot of ground rather well, I question whether the best way to introduce people to 40k is by beginning with the organized details and specific historical events. Until someone is already familiar to some degree with the medievalism of the setting and the seemingly unavoidable set of factors that create it, it's going to be hard to connect with much of 40k's lofty top-down information.

When he mentioned the warhound titan he showed us a image of a reaver ( I'm aware that a warhound was in the background) but if you were new to 40k you'd think the reaver was a warhound, also he didn't mention the steal legion or the dark angels
