Now that I’ve taught you that there are three cell types in or on your ovaries, you need to realize that each one can cause cancers. And if the cell of origin is different, the resulting cancers will be different. In this video, I’ll present the different kinds of Ovarian Cancers that result from the different types of ovarian cells.

I am an ovarian cancer survivor for 20 years in November. I do not know which type of cancer I had. But the quiz question I was guessing right. I am well but it was the most challenging experience of my life. I hope it doesn’t come back, I am not sure I can handle it a second time. But

I applaud you, my dear. Im thrilled that you are a survivor. And I want it to stay that way. PLEASE find out the name of your ovarian cancer. It's so important for you to know all about it. Keep watching my videos. You will discover that there are 63 different kinds of ovarian cancer. You cannot blindly hope. You deserve to know the kind of cancer you had.

Christ, you’re right about GP’s. I went to mine today and obviously was armed with information you have given me after my other GP from another surgery did not make the connection for a WHOLE YEAR regarding my numerous menopausal symptoms! It’s sickening when you think about the money these doctors get paid. Anyway, this new GP was quite condescending. I was trying to speak about it with her bearing in mind you only get 15 minutes consult and she was telling me to stop interrupting (I was not talking over her at all). But she said I must listen and only ask questions at the end! So condescending. Anyway, she has given me a combi patch to try. But they don’t warn you against Alzheimer’s here in the U.K. It seems that they don’t care about that. They only care about breast cancer and clots.

Present and ready to learn! OMG, I am so glad my ovaries were also removed. Our reproductive organs are complex and also have too many potential cancers! With all the possible cancers it makes me wonder how easily the cancer cell type it is to figure out so treatment can be targeted once the hysterectomy with BSO is done and sent to pathology.
@MenopauseTaylor

Treatment always depends on the cell type that formed the cancer in the first place. If you know that, you can choose treatments that specifically kill that kind of cell.

First of all, you look smashing in the colorway you are wearing!! Secondly (if there is such a word), it pays to watch and learn your videos in order…because I got the quiz question correct! It just makes sense. Such a great presentation…now and always. Hugs and love to you. 😘💕

This may be a very dumb question but I’m going to ask anyway. I had a salpingo oophorectomy due to ovarian cancer on my mother’s side. Could I still be at any risk for ovarian cancer of any kind?
@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor 2 месяца назад
Absolutely YES. Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy decreases your risk of ovarian cancer by 90%, not 100%. The reason you still have a 10% risk of ovarian cancer is because of the "serosa" (Saran Wrap-like covering) layer. It extends beyond your ovaries and covers all the surfaces in your abdomen and pelvis. This is the very reason ovarian cancer is so difficult to diagnose or treat. PLEASE watch all these ovarian cancer videos in order. You deserve to know everything I'll teach you.
