48 Hour Water Fast | Unleash Benefits From This Simple Fast is a video that highlight the value of a short prolonged fast. When a lot of people think about fasting they think they have to go extreme or stay home. They truth is that 48 hour water fast benefits offers a great deal of support to the body unleashing all that benefits that fasting has to offer. Dr. Nick Zyrowski normally, I do OMAD but now am fasting four days for spiritual fasting and next month is Ramadan which I will be fasting 30 consecutive days if God will. But my bad is that I touch sugary food sometimes. Thank you Dr. Nick Zyrowski

This was awesome! I am litereally 2 hrs away from breaking my weekly 48-hr water fast. I cannot tell you how much I love it! I have a weekly routine that I have been following for probably 6 months now. (I have been keto for 15 months.) I cannot see myself changing any of it... so many improvements!! :)) (not to mention that reached my ideal weight by losing 50 lbs in the first 6 months and have kept if off for close to a year now.)

@@mhakabukayo6931 On Mondays I stop eating around 2 pm. I start eating on Wednesday at 2 pm. I break the fast with bone broth. Then a little later, Sunwarrior protein shake, then when I am ready for some more...mackerel, or chicken breast with some mustard, and some seaweed snacks. Then blend together 8oz broth, 1/2 and avocado, 2 oz goat cheese, oregano and salt. I usually end my eating window on Wed around 5 PM with some cocoyo. Thursdays through Saturday.. my eating window is usually noon - 4:00 PM. On Thursdays I eat keto but no dairy or nuts. Friday is also keto and I allow myself dairy and nuts...but no sweet treats. Saturday and Sunday I add in some foods that showed up on my microbiome testing as superfoods for me but are not keto....sweet potatoes, apples, red beets, and beans. I also allow keto treats on the weekend. Then on Monday, I eat from noon till 2 pm...basic keto style. Even with the added carbs on the weekend, it is rare that I am ever kicked out of keto when I check my ketones in the mornings. I look forward to breaking my fast on Wednesday with broth and all the foods that I eat that day. Since I keep adding in more yummy foods as the week progresses, I am always looking forward to the next day. But surprisingly, till Monday rolls around, I again look forward to cleaning up again. :)

I recently got back to fasting due to digestive issues. I have tried so many different treatments to improve stomach issues with no success. I recently got off a 36 hour fast and my stomach feels better than it has in years. For me, giving my system a rest, is so, so good. I look forward to doing a 48 hour fast once per week. I'll do it and just listen to my body. Hopefully I will see a positive effect on my body as a result. Thanks Dr Zyrowski.

I'm 18 years old and one year before I was on OMAD and KETO for 4 months without any day stopping it ...After this I start powerlifting and from 58 kilos skinny I go at 83 kilo in 3-4 months I know is bad bcs of my healthy but I get bigger than other guys that was doing gym 2 years I don't know why maybe fat adapted give me that ability (I didn't have such a good diet bcs a lot of times smoke weed is hard to do not eat sugar when you're high 😅)now I have 7 months to go to gym and last 2 weeks I start again but this summer I want to be shredded and not bulking I'm thinking start this 48 hours of fasting and then omad every day ..You think is good idea I mean even a lot of times that I didn't train every time in week I do 24 hours of fasting maybe more some times idk tell mou your opinion ❤️(forgot to tell was 78 kg fat and then got 58 kg and much much healthier body)

I like the idea of this once every two weeks . I do the Every Other Day Diet which is essentially a 500 calorie OMAD every other day diet . A 48 hour fast every two weeks should help me .

About a month ago my wife and I finished our 8th consecutive week of 60 hour water fasting. We were starting the fast on Sunday evening and breaking the fast on Wednesday's at noon. I lost weight fairly quickly but after the 3rd or 4th week I quit losing weight. We were excersising 5 days per week at the gym also using the treadmill's and resistance training. It does put a lot of stress on the system and it isn't easy. I am 61 years old. I did manage to lose over 10 lbs. I am not training any longer at the gym due to the virus quarantine that is going on where I live but I would like your opinion Dr Zyrowski on how often we should do these short fasts. For me, I found that after the 4th time my body just adjusts to the fast and no further weight is lost. I need to start fasting again but I would like to have your opinion on how long I should do these short fasts(how many weeks in a row) and how long to lay off the fasts before starting them again.

Yes! I'm so glad you did this video. I do a 48-hour fast once per month. I do it exactly for some of the reasons you mentioned; to reset, to give my intestines and digestive system a rest. I kind of feel like it gives all my organs and intestines a good "washing" and at the end of it I have better mental clarity. It's awesome. Could you suggest what to take for the electrolytes? I usually just put a big pinch of good kosher salt in a glass of water, but I'm not sure that's good enough. I know I say it often, but thanks so much again for all of your videos! You really do make so many lives much better 💖

Thomas Delauer has videos addressing these specific questions. But in summary... drink water, herbal tea, green tea, black coffee and ACV, sea salt in water. Break a fast with lean protein and vegetables. Easy to digest. You can workout gently. The best time is just before you end the fast

Thanks how often for a 48 water fast once a month or weekly ? You said no to 3 days a week .i was thinking of doing liquid or water fast 24 hours a week or alternate day fasting which does give three days a week but not three days in a roll ? Yes it is so hard especially when you’re starting. It took me almost a month to get comfy with it. But when you get the hang of it, you can do 36 hrs just for kicks and run the treadmill. Consistency is key.

You're trying to do it too fast. It took me 3-4 weeks of tapering my fast. 18:6, 19:5, 20:4, 22:2, and now eventually OMAD. I jog 5km 3 times a week and do bodyweight exercises every alternate day. I've not felt hungry for a long time; most of the time I eat because its time to eat. Eventually I've worked up to a 36hr fast. it will break your weight loss plateau. If you're hungry, maybe drink some almond milk, or coffee. Always remember that your "hunger" comes in waves, it will dissipate. Just ride the wave. I've lost 12lbs in 3 weeks. Skin and scalp got less oily & my mild eczema has not acted up in awhile.

You come across as annoyed! There is no set rule for amount of water intake. Everyone will have a differing amount that they feel is sufficient. So personally, I seem to take in between 3 - 4 litres per day during the fast. And with my first litre of water of the day, I always add a half teaspoon of himalayan pink salt. Also all my water is carbonated. Carbonated water produces a "fed feeling" for me anyway. My longest fast was 23 days in September 2019. Since then I've done several shorter fasts - 48 hours, 3 days, 5 days, and 7 days. It's a mental challenge more than a physical. To "fast" first you have to make that decisive decision with no excuses! If you can pass the 3-day mark, then it becomes much easier because of the fuel shift in the body. @@BrotherBearBarras When someone is on a water-only fast, let me tell you, 3 - 4 litres of water is not a lot. But like I stated, take in as much as you require. That may be less or more. No one can direct you on how much to take in. Take in what you feel is right for you. Over and Out

Lina, don't worry about age being an obstacle. I'm 62 years old and I've fasted every day for the past 6 years for 22 hours. So, to clarify, I eat only between the hours of 6pm - 8pm. I've also completed multi-day/week fasts. My longest being 23 days in September 2019. Hope this allays some of your fears. I'll post my daily regime if you wish? Over and Out

It breaks down / recycles defective and old immune cells then when you break your fast, you rebuild a stronger more efficient immune system. (The key is to ensure the items you consume in the refeed are high quality)

Its really not necessary, especially if you are carrying lots of body fat. IF 18/6 and a 36hr fast between Sunday night and Tuesday morning (Metabolic Monday) is more than enough to get fat loss going if you stay in a moderate energy deficit and walk 2hrs a day.

Probably at 36 hours. You'll wake up feeling great. If you have severe insulin resistance, it could take 4 days.

Monday and Tuesday water only fasting kiss keep it simple stupid Sunday Omad Wednesday Omad other days 2mad whole foods plant based only 8 oz. of meat a week only 64 oz of water every day work out lift hev lit wt. Speed Walk and mini trampoline 4x a week. ADD a big Green smoothie as a meal or only meal this I'm figuring out as I reading the post . Note to self this my new rules and plan added to my prayer and meditation this my be my happy place

As Muslims were being doing it for more than 14 centuries, we do not actually need someone who didn't discover the benefits of fasting until recently to teach us how to fast in Ramadan. Just do it as it explained in the holy Quran and in the sunna and you will get all the benefits from it. Don't over think it.

As Muslim our Prophet taught us to fast twice a week (dry fast). And now in the month of ramadan we’re fasting too. So this is no news news for me.

@@pascalenimue1392 Yes it is ok, and even GOOD. And did you even watch the video? He literally said to take electrolytes during the fast. Please research before just making flat statements without anything to back it up. Fasting has been around since, literally, the beginning of human beings. it has been proven over and over that it is safe and good for you if you do it correctly.
