All the touch-starved people understand when I say that the line “And I love you, I really do” makes my heart ache so much and my skin feels empty and cold without the embrace from another person. One part i really love about this song is that, because you can hear every little sound that normally gets cut out of songs, it sounds like you're actually right there with Simon and his dead girlfriend

this is the first demo that i can say that i like just as much as the original, no more, no less. the lyrics are so different but it's still got the same feel, still so beautiful. edit: okay i fucking love stranded lullaby (oh yeah and i'm aware that there's not a single person alive atm that cares about what i think but i don't got anywhere better to say it) but my lord this is so much better. stranded lullaby is beautiful and amazing and so on, but this feels so much better. the album version is about missing someone, as they're gone, and now you're drifting alone at sea, hoping one day to cross paths once more, still regretting the relationship you no longer have, realizing what you did wrong. but this is more about savoring the little time you have left with them. you know you will part in the future, and you want to make them certain that you love them with all your heart. you'll love them till they're gone. sucks that it wouldn't fit with the whole story hawaii part II seems to portray, but damn this would've been so much better to have as the final version. alas, past is past. edit part ii: man this became weirdly relevant to my life

just went into my final year of high school. i’ve always been one of the social outcasts of my school, sitting in the corner of the cafeteria with my small group of friends who were neglected by everyone else for not conforming to what they saw as popular. i’ve found an art course at a nearby college that i’ll probably head into once i’m done with high school. it’s a fresh start for me, my guess is that none of the assholes from my school will be there so i can start fresh with a bunch of new people and try to make something of myself. my dream is that when i get there, i find a girl who’s just as weird as i am, hell maybe she also likes tally hall lmao. i’ve been thinking about this for weeks and it hurts so much that i have to wait almost a whole year just for the course to start. maybe i’ll find that girl who lives in my mind, who loves horror movies and stupid video games and drawing silly characters and listening to tally hall songs just as much as i do and who won’t judge me for being open about my interests and instead loves me for it. or maybe she doesn’t exist. maybe it’s all just wishful thinking, hoping that, where ever i end up after school, it’s better than where i am now. but, who knows. for once i finally feel like i know what i want to do with my future, but i’ve never been more terrified. i’ve got 11 months to worry about it, to hope for things to be better than the bottom of the barrel. one can dream. for now, i’ll have to keep singing this lullaby only made for two by myself.

This demo will forever hold a special place in my heart, and mind. The beat, Joe’s voice. It matches together perfectly. The reason why he created this song seems so sweet, and heartwarming too. The lyrics of this whole song just sound so beautiful and sad. Bittersweet. The part that I seriously can’t get out of my head is around 1:50 and wow, again with the rhythm/background music along with joes voice seems so lovely. Now I love music, it’s like a part of me at this point. And very few songs make me wanna talk about it forever explaining why I love it, like this one. Now that I found it, I do wish they kept this version but I understand why they changed it. If I wrote a song about a past relationship, that was never fully publicly released, I wouldn’t see a reason to share it to the world. It’s like secret treasure, hidden away from the world. I find that lovely. Stranded Lullaby is still a great song, and I love it too. But I’m so glad I was introduced to this demo version aswell :)

i was watching that like hour long hawaii part ii analysis at 2am and i was so braindead and half asleep in my chair lol the video started playing stranded lullaby and i felt genuinely,, upset ??almost like hopelessness or something i just felt so sad and somber during the song i felt this. like. strong feeling of "wow hawaii part ii really is beautiful the album is so deep" and at the same time like "all good things must come to an end" and thinking about it now was so confusing like why did ONE song make me feel all these things its actually insane im so confused but at the same time sometimes i feel like i would do anything to experience that again like feel the beauty of that song and i think hawaii part ii or maybe just stranded lullaby affected me in some way the addiction for tally hall stretches deeper than i can comprehend and now whenever i hear stranded lullaby (or any hawaii part ii song) its all i can think of

This feels like the perfect goodbye for a roleplay story me and my best friend had. The main characters were in love, the female character belonged to me, and the male character belonged to my friend. They had a really sweet relationship. I know this is something that my best friend’s character would sing to my character, and it feels so bittersweet it’s perfect. I miss the story, and I feel bad for the characters. They deserved so much more. They deserved more time.

i constantly thing about this song , and I've realised . he wrote this melody and these lyrics for his then girlfriend , it was a genuine emotion filled song just for her . but then he completely redid the theme of the song and repurposed the melody of the song for hp2 , changing the lyrics to fit the albums story . it went from a genuine love song by a man to his girlfriend , to a song about the story of man being apart from history girlfriend

The fact he wrote this to his ex, a good few years before she dumped him for having paranoid schizophrenia . Only for him to reuse it for a album about a man going insane and murdering his partner, only to secome to the dangers of the deep sea is just... So weirdly beautiful.

I love this version of the song more than the original. It made me feel a way no other song has ever made me feel, especially if you're reading the lyrics while listening to the song. It invokes this feeling of longing and grief, but also comfort and true love. It sounds really mushy, but true love is the one of the only ways it can be described. Stranded Lullaby's demo nearly drove me to tears. The lyrics, combined with the melody and all, is truly, entirely beautiful. I can't stress this enough; I love this song so much. I could listen to it for hours on end. I felt genuinely moved while listening. Some of the lyrics stab like a knife through my heart and soul and mine. "Hear me here, someday my voice may not be near." That line hurts, yet, still, I love it. Words cannot explain how much I love this song. I nearly cried listening to this song, and I haven't cried in 3 years, so that's how you know this is a truly indescribably beautiful piece of art. It's so bitter-sweet. This song makes me think of when I had only one friend I felt I could really trust. We had a bond. Sadly, she moved away. I've not thought about her for a long, long time. But, now, reminiscing over my friendship with her, I feel a knot in my stomach and as if I'd been stabbed in the heart, and it hurt and felt good at the same time. I miss her more than ever.
