Taking a look at how the 49ers were able to topple the Rams at SoFi whiteoakpastures.com/jd49 coupon code: JD49 / jonnydels / japodcasthost paypal.me/JonnydelsFA?country... www.patreon.com/user?u=19176394
I do want to see other guys get carries but you gotta secure playoffs first. Also, a loss early in the season was the difference between having the first round bye and not
You are 100% correct, we can't be running CMC every play! Mitchell is a good back, give him a few carries! And stop playing CMC in garbage time, bring in Mason for that!
Put all 3 in same play with different formations. Mix or match, it doesn’t matter. Use them. You want to win as many games as you can right now to put yourself in better position for the playoffs.
Purdy has elite processing skills. Whether defenses try all out blitzing, disguising coverages, dropping 8 into coverage he almost always makes the right decision. We have seen him hit deep passes several times last year so I'm not worried about his deep accuracy after not throwing the ball for months while injured. Once he cleans that up, our offense will be unstoppable
Maybe a hot take here, but I love seeing that Brock didn't play his best game here and the team still puts up 30 points. Also, I love that his "misses" wasn't turning down the deep throws, just put a little too much on them.
My thoughts exactly. We know Purdy does well at correcting mistakes, and he probably will here. But even so, he clearly outplayed the other guy, and did plenty to win even on a "bad" day.
I was glad to see Purdy has the arm strength to make those throws even though they were overthrown. That's always been the knock on Purdy is the lack of arm talent but he's looking better post surgery, just needs to add a but more touch.
While I miss the scouting report, these breakdowns will always be 🔥. As the game, Rams needed to play perfect, the niners doesn't have to. Rams held up for clost to 3 quarters until the Ram Youth caught up. Niners just needed to be consistent.
I wait for this every week, with almost as much anticipation as the game itself. Thank you for everything you do. Wish you were more of a presence on RU-vid with some of the other SF regulars. I can't even imagine you and Crock breaking down game play together. Would be unreal.
Don't count on it with the way Kyle is running him like he's trying to win his fantasy football league starting McCaffrey each week. It's very irritating to see Kyle have that big of a blind spot in his judgment.
Johnny Dell, why were the 49ers struggling in regards to pressuring Stafford? That entire first-half, the Rams offensive line DOMINATED the 49ers highly praised DBs.
To make a positive out of a negative. It was ironic to see Purdy, the guy people say can't throw deep, over throw 3 passes on deep plays. At least one of them being about 40+ yards.
What makes Deebo special isn't his speed because he's no Tyreek Hill or Jaylen Waddle. It's how he shifts directions in unexpected ways, varies his speed, and finds open space to run to after he catches the ball. You can defeat speed, but you can't defeat what he does because the NFL hasn't seen a player like him ever.
7:04 THIS, exactly this. With all the money and talent we have up front, our vaunted D-line HAS to deliver more consistent pressure. I'm not concerned with one individual player (e.g. Bosa) not picking up sacks, but when the D-line collectively posts a goose-egg and the only way we can generate pressure is to start blitzing constantly, that is a problem. Credit to Wilkes for making the necessary adjustment, but it's an adjustment he shouldn't have to make. 21:15 I'm honestly also surprised that teams keep trying 8-man coverages against us. What's shown up in a lot of the plays in your videos is that rushing only three and giving our QB that much time (our O-line does need to protect better against only three) just seems like a recipe for a completion. With all the receiving threats we have, there's just no way to cover them all beyond the first few seconds, no matter how many defenders you put in coverage. Another week, another awesome video. I'm always looking forward to Tuesdays now. :)
Great analysis as usual. You missed one of the best blocks by Kittle in his career, though. What springs Deebo for his touchdown run is 'bowling ball' Kittle as he knocks down 3 Rams tacklers like bowling pins.
I like that the Defense adjusted and tightened up in the 2nd half - the Lenoir INT and the Bosa stoppage on 4th down were the big game changing plays, IMO. It was a good game that could have gone LA's way if not for those turnovers.
Looking at Purdy's overthrows, it's good to see that he is at least willing to go deep, trusted by Kyle to call those plays, and able to get the ball down field. Question though: all the overthrows seemed very similar, missing their receivers by roughly 5 yards. Do you think this might be a mechanical thing that he can adjust? Kinda like resetting a guns sights, could Purdy make a simple change to his throw to hit his deep targets?
Not surprising that the Ram's D was giving CMC extra attention. I'm sure remembering his triple crown game last season was heavy on their minds preparing this time.
Any doubts I had about Wilks are now gone. He dialed-up a nickel package to start the game but learned that if you play cover ball with Matt Stafford, he will win in the long run. So he brought more blitzes in the 2nd half and dared the Rams to run the ball. The result, just 6 points scored by the Rams in the entire 2nd half.
I love white oak pastures!! 👍👍 big fan of how they run their organization. Honestly. The owner has a sit down on the Joe Rogan podcast, if anyone is interested. It’s a fascinating conversation.
I feel like if Deebo had throttled down behind Kittle on that reverse, he could have scored. Also, I don't feel like the sluggo was a miss by Purdy as much as Aiyuk didn't get up to speed as quickly as he should have. It looks like he slows down a bit and thinks about how to handle the oncoming safety. Am I the only person who still calls a corner route a flag?
Honestly, one good thing I don’t see people pointing out much, is that yes even though purdy overthrew some throws that could have lead to 2 more touchdowns, it shows the injury didn’t diminish his arm strength at all, and we may have been underestimating it.
Johnnydels' is a treasure to the Sourdough Squad fan base. I have a lot to say about the team so far but I'll keep it to this people. Alert, alert, alert! Sourdough Squad has a Bigfoot. That's right he's no longer a mythical creature. Bigfoot is real and his name is Jake Moody a rookie with a 57 yarder at approx. sea level in his second NFL game. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it 2023 NFL season. Also, who else thought about Randy from South Park when he intentionally gave himself cancer by microwaving his scrotum and then needed a wheelbarrow for his footballs? That's Shanny and Purdy with the QB sneak on the 1 yard line with 1 second left in the first half. Although the Rams' D-Line had strangely wide splits and not so aggressive posture for that sneak. Doubtful we'll get that look again. I will say that I love the defensive breakdown. I love learning about route converting palms defense. Such great content Johnnydel you truly enhance the experience for me. Thank you.
Thanks for the landmark explanation. Please talk about the crackback block call on Jennings. I didn’t see anything wrong other than the Rams player needed to put his socks back on. ;}>
Just trying to see where Brock played bad? Yes, it wasn't perfect what QB is? I think he played a really good game with room to improve and fix here and there.
