Another great house track that has been largely forgotten over time. Thumping bass, moaning samples and the vocal by Aretha Franklin (being lip sunk here) made this one of the hottest club tracks on 1989-90.
Quem viveu essa época, sabe como foi feliz. No RJ, você podia ir da zona norte à zona sul tranquilamente curtir uma boate sossegado. Hoje vivemos em cárcere privado.
Always loved the old Italian-House, real milestones in a certain way of making music! A sophisticated and never banal sound, refined and with that touch of elegant style that only Italians can give. Pause your life for a moment and put this record on 📻 it's worth it! 😎
I remember buying the 12" single of this while out to lunch with a co-worker (she drove). When we got back to the office, our boss wanted to see what I bought. He had no idea what 12" singles were an was fascinated when he read "sexual mix" on the label. I think this track would have been way too funky for him! Such a great tune - brings back many happy memories.
The track actually samples Touch Me by Alisha Warren and Rock-A-Lott by Aretha Franklin. Not sure who the chick is in the music video but she ain’t singing. It was very common in that era for dance acts to have a front woman who didn’t actually sing anything on the track.
That's because Dawn Mitchell (front woman) in the video couldn't sing at all! It was common in the 90s simply because sex sales (sadly) it ruined or rather hindered Martha Wash success because she wasn't at the forefront and because she was a big woman, she didn't get more opportunities or the credit she truly deserved! Music industry sucks in that regard taking looks over real God-given talent!
One of the biggest dance track of its time. And yes it is Aretha Franklin sampled, and no, it has nothing to do with the boy who never wanted to grow up. *Eye roll*, lol!
+Andrea Scott I agree. the most progressive dance song of late 80s. people who come and give comments are people who never listen summer 89 90 dance euro dj mixes. I prefer to click on italo house mixes than come here and read not important comments. that was the age of sampling! sample was like gold. just lick on 4:34, every cassette deck on earth, amplifier and 2 system sound speaker will be pleased
