4K DeOldify | Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I have a Dream Speech - COLOR

Experience the iconic I have a Dream Speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on August 28, 1963 in this 4K and colorized version. Thanks to the advancement in AI/artificial intelligence, old black and white film can be converted into higher resolutions and also produced into color.
The DeOldify software had some trouble getting the color accurate for this video, but the quality is something that has not been seen by many. I may come back to this one if I figure out something better with the colors.

One of the things I love most about this speech is that all throughout, Martin Luther King, Jr. didn’t just point out tensions between black & white people, although that is still important. These are the actual last words of his speech: “...We will be able to speed up that day, when ALL of God’s children, BLACK men and WHITE men, JEWS and GENTILES, PROTESTANTS and CATHOLICS, will be able to join hands...” Racism isn’t just about black & white. It is that and much more, as MLKJ made it clear.

You do know that the original speech and March on Washington in fact wasn’t broadcasted in color on television because in 1963, even though it was invented. Color televisions were too expensive for people to afford, yes there are color photos of the March on Washington and the I have a dream speech, but they literally did not make the video black and white to make the issue seem like an issue of the past. It’s literally because color TV wasn’t a popular thing yet. Tbh this is pretty manipulative and poor taste.

"I Have a Dream" is delivered through a passionate and eloquent speech that employs powerful rhetoric to advocate for racial equality and social justice. It uses Rhetorical Situation to enforce his speech. The speech was a response to the urgent need for civil rights reform and an end to racial segregation and discrimination in the United States. The purpose of the speech was to inspire hope, mobilize support for the civil rights movement, and pressure the government to enact change. The speech was directed at a broad audience, including the American public, the government, and the media.

All animals adapt to their surroundings, the material reality. As far as we know only humans transform their imagination into material solidity, only humans make their dreams into reality. This has been both the greatest gift as well as the greatest curse to all living things on this earth.

Today my grandson of 6 yrs old and I were watching TV. He showed me a piece of paper from elementary school that showed MLK. I asked him, "What exactly did they tell you about Dr. King". Of course, a child of 6 years old didn't remember. So I said, "Let grandma tell you exactly what this man did for us, and what happened because of his dream." We both cried. I wanted him to understand that this is NOT just a day off from school, but because of the travesty, of the struggles that are endured today. The beauty of seeing this in full color is amazing!!!! Thank you.

It seems America has grown cynical and myopic. But I still believe in his Dream. I know many of my fellow Americans still believe in his Dream of a United America, regardless of our individual identities. Let freedom ring... Rest in peace, Dr. King. Thank you for giving us hope.

Especially the last words. "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we're free at last!!" Boy, that man had a way with words! The fact he is still quoted 60 years later proves it.
