Mechelen (Mechlin) is a city and municipality in the province of Antwerp in the Flemish region of Northern Belgium. It is one of the notable cities for history and art, along with Antwerp, Bruges and Brussels. In this virtual walking tour, we'll pass a number of the cities famous buildings before taking a walk along the River Dijle.
Sites along the way include:
St Rumbold's Graveyard
Sint-Romboutskathedraal (Saint Rumbold's Cathedral)
Grote Markt
Sculpture - Margaretha van Oostenrijk
Stadhuis Mechelen (Mechelen City Hall)
IJzerenleen - main shopping and restaurant street
Grootbrug
We then follow the Dijlepad, a wooden walkway along the river Dijle, to the Kruidtuin Mechelen park and garden, and finish our virtual walk in front of De Foyer van 't Arsenaal.

Fantastic film. Looks a great city to go and see. Those were the days when you could brush past someone and not worry. Or sit outside a cafe and watch the world go by.

Hi Alison, yes it's quite amazing to think that was possible only a few months ago but feels a life time away. I'm sure we'll appreciate so much when the day comes? In the meantime if it's helpful in a small way I have over 100 city films here and will be adding more cafe and coffee shop experiences to help with stir craze. All the best to you.

I was born in Mechelen and I still live there. It is a fantastic city where there is something to do every day. In the spring and summer, if it is not a corona, there are a lot of events for young and old. Be sure to come and discover the city where I live.

@@LivingWalks Thanks for replying and acknowledging the funny side of my comment 😂 As for drone restrictions yes, it can be a bit of a minefield in regards to where you can fly but as long as you read up on the laws and stick to the rules it isn't so bad. Drone footage captures unique footage and images, plus it is a lot of fun to fly. I hope you'll give it a go and be amazed! 😊

Hello, my dearest!! Here I am, finally!! This city is absolutely so lovely and cosy and beautiful as all Belgium. I really loved this Country very much... I visited Brussels, Bruges and Ghent. And I did videos about it. I would have liked to visit Antwerp too, but I no longer had the time! Once again, I had fun, relaxed and distracted by all the rest walking with you.... You're the best, guys!! As for the backup computer, I'll have to wait Monday, to find out if it will be possible to use it...
