Our guided walking tour takes us around the centre of Antwerpen old town and covers most attractions and historic sites of Antwerp.
We begin our walk at the Museum aan de Stroom and end at St Anna’s Tunnel, or Underpass.
It is situated 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of Brussels, and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) south of the Dutch border. Antwerp is also situated on the Schelde (Scheldt) River, about 55 miles (88 km) from the North Sea.
Antwerp is the most populous city in Belgium and it the second-largest metropolitan region after Brussels. The city is in the Dutch - (Flemish) speaking part of Belgium and is the unofficial capital of Flanders.
The Port of Antwerp is one of the biggest in the world! We have another walk around this area.

Belgium is at the top of my list. Always been drawn to the art, etc. it has to offer. Love the outside cafes. AND I love Belgium Waffles and a hot cup of coffee. What is with the bell constantly ringing. Hi from Sandpoint, Idaho USA

Hello there HD, ah yes indeed a gem of a place. We've spent more time in nearby Netherlands and are completely in love with the country but visiting Belgium and especially Ghent was a real joy too. Good question about the bells, I'm not sure why they were so insistent... maybe someone here can throw some light on that?

Not sure at what time of day or what day of the week you passed the Cathedral but normally bells ring for an extended period before mass. Sundays, there usually are two or three masses and bells will ring like 15 minutes (or even half an hour) before the start. Guessing it's that.

Wow you guys get around two different countries really fast one second you are in Istanbul and now you are in Antwerp. That was great at 7:30 you caught the cathedral bells ringing loudly. That was the best shot of the video in my opinion. I also like that wall mural at 14:03. Wow those super long escalators.. I do remember they have those in Europe... we don't have those in America.

Hi there friend, thanks for staying in contact. Well we do very much love to travel and it's been challenging to be at home mainly for a couple of years. There's just so much beauty to experience and where we live is handy as we have a local airport which until the pandemic flew to around 50 countries in Europe. I do hope it manages to bounce back. Ha ha, yes that was a bit of luck catching the cathedral bells ringing so loudly. How are things with you generally, getting a bit better I hope?

Hi BIAF, yes we didn't know too much before our visit and enjoyed it very much. We spent a bit of time coordinating our walk to get in the bells chiming, so pleased you liked it!

we were there last week to see depeche mode play the stadium, had a walk around the city then drove back to the uk thru the countryside, fantastic place we will definitely be going back to explore more

Frankly, until recently, I knew very little about Belgium. Belgium for me was the country where my carpet was made. 🙂 But now, especially thanks to your beautiful video, I have learned more about this country than in my entire previous life. I quite agree friend, we felt the same before we visited and we were very pleased with what we found. BTW What a wonderfully atmospheric walk I've just taken on your channel. I've become interested in Russia through 'Bald and Bankrupt' and just find it fascinating. I visited when I was quite young (in Soviet times), so it's of special interest to me. All the best to you.
