While this brewery produces beer on a macro scale, they still maintain that level of quality & taste expected from a Craft German Brewery. Even bottle condition the appropriate beers well. I respect this brewery for its effort in producing quality and tradition!
I had a bit of a Weissbier binge over Christmas... I am still a relative novice to all of this, but I am concluding that German Weissbier and Belguim beers (Leffe, Duvel, etc are my favorite.... I credit this channel and a couple of other sites for turning me into a bit of a beer snob and larger-phobic.
If someone were to ask me "What does a Hefe Weissbier taste like?", I'd bring up this one as a perfect example of the style. It really manages to balance all the aspects of a good Weizen almost perfectly. However after having tried several different examples of the style, Weihenstephaner almost comes out as "too perfect" and clinical. It doesn't really exaggerate any of the flavors. If you like something a bit more hoppy, Schneider Weisse is a good choice, if you want something with more clove and banana, Paulaner offers more of that, and if you want something with even more of a smooth and thick mouthfeel, my current favorite is Andechser.
First beer I drank in Germany, too many years ago to care to remember - but not way back to 1040 - just come across it again in the UK and still just as good as I remembered.
One of my favorite beers... anything by Weihenstephaner is amazing, to my taste buds anyway... my favorites are HefeWeissbier, HefeWeissbier Dunkel, and Vitus... nice review. Prosit!
Best beer on the planet... There are some brews that are stronger, some with more flavor but none are more well balanced and drinkable than Weihenstephaner Weiss (imo obviously).
Watching this 5 years later and that beer looks good. Bet they are still in business which would really make them old right! LOL! Thanks for the review. Love me some reviews of those most tasty brews!
An excellent review by any measure! And an excellent beer. The best wheat beer I've ever tried, and I've tried quite a few. I kept thinking I was picking up some strawberry in the aroma, however, which I've never noticed in a wheat beer, but it was delightful. Cheers!
I like your videoing style its proper! I like the way you really get into the review and your love for the beer shines through, my friends converted me to these fine beers and got me quite a few to sample, this beer being one off them. Can't wait to try it!!!!!
My local sells it, amazingly enough. Totally gorgeous, but £5.40 per pint. (Being a Wetherspoons Wurzel, that's quite pricey). But it has all the characteristics you want. Incredibly refreshing, like an all natural product. I agree, don't be tempted to drink it too fast. 'Dangerously drinkable' you are right guvnor !
It's a toss up between this and Schneiderweiss as to who makes the best one. Those to brewers really are at the top of the tree when it comes to weissbier. Everything else is just imitating those two.
@@Ben-jr3ji Don't matter who owns it. Still delivers all the flavors that I look in a Hefe. Maybe the distributor of your area is spreading piss water.
Hefipale Burp of course it does, like sharps brewery are owned by Molson Coors, Doom Bar is a cheap and bland pint. I beg your pardon? What distributor? I order my beer online most of the time.
