.035 to .083 is the recommended clearance for this clutch pack. I personally do mine to the minimum clearance. Don't exceed the max, you'll regret it later.
Hi Hiram, how do you correct when your clutch clearances are over or under on the 4l60e 3/4 clutch packs? I appreciate your response and thank you for your videos.
You are saying to leave the 3/4 load springs in place, then why doe's ATSG repair/ rebuild manual to remove the 3/4 load spring, this is confusing. 9-7-2013
I wish I would have known you where in Houston bro!!! My 3-4 clutch packs where fried on my 4l60 and I just paid 800 to get it fixed... is that normal price? What are your prices?
Use the manual dial indicator. Im a machinist and own a digital dial indicator from harbor freight. Its junk. There analog dial indicator isnt really that bad for doing work like this but there digital one is garbage . Its actually half way decent . Ive gotten really bad false reading from the HF model I think its tolerance is .01 and if your off by that on the high or low it could mess this job up. . Ive returned two of them and just kind of excepted the third one but never use it ever.
