NTERNATIONAL RAMAYANA FESTIVAL 2013 #IRF2013 was held at Open Air Theatre, Prambanan Temple, Yogyakarta, Indonesia on September 5th - 10th, 2013.
There were 9 participated countries who performed a story of Ramayana, based on their own version (Cambodia, India, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Indonesia which represented by Yogyakarta & Bali provinces)

4th Episode:
"Jatayu's heroic fight with Ravana"

Laksmana is sent by Sinta to look for Rama when they heard the voice of Rama shouting for help. But when Laksmana finds Rama, they realise that they are tricked. There is only the water bottle of Sinta left on the ground. They panic and rush off to look for Sinta.
Sinta is being is kidnapped and transported to the Alengka in Ravana's flying chariot. Jatayus, the mighty King of birds hears Sita's cries for help and attempts to rescue the Princess. A ferocious aerial battle ensues in which Jatayus attacks Ravana's heads and arms with his sharp talons. Ravana slashes Jatayus's wings, and the King of bird falls to earth and seriously injured. Ravana flies away with the tearful Sinta. By the time Rama and Laksmana find Jatayu, he is too weak to tell the princes what happened, and dies painfully. In honour of the Jatayu's heroic fighting, the princes perform funeral rites for the King of birds.
Suddenly there is a stranger standing beside the princes. When lord Rama and Lakshmana introduce themselves to Hanuman, he rejoices and falls down on the feet of the Prince and reveals his identity to them. Hanuman informs the Princes that he is the son of the wind go and he knows that it was Ravana who captured Sinta and he is willing to help to rescue Sinta. Rama gives Hanuman a jade pendant so that when he meets the Princess he will be able to identify himself as an alliance of the Prince. The Teochew opera ends with Hanuman leading the army to rescue Sinta in Alengka.
