this will produce a 16-bit non-ASCII file, which is a problem in many cases, you should use "Data Extension Extract with File Encoding and gzip"... gives you much more control, then from the drop-down choose ASCII.
The Custom DE extract is missing under the drop down , Can you please help me how do it get that drop down added to the list. I watched the other video converting to a zip file after being dropped into the FTP, but the file is not sent to FTP due to the size. So my goal is to send the zip file instead of converting later. please suggest.
You have to raise a case with the Salesforce Support team to enable it for your org. Ensure you specify the MID for all the BUs you need this to be enabled for.
Not that I know of - the Data Extract activity pulls the full DE. But you could use a SQL Query activity prior to the Data Extract to pull in only the fields you need temporarily to a new DE and then do the data extract from this new DE. You can later delete the temporary one that you created.
Yes u have to specify external key of the synch DE in the config. All fields that are available in the synch DE will be extracted - u dont get option to choose. You can choose specific columns using SQL first to a custom DE frm Synch DE and then do Extract.
