What’s impressive is this mans dedication to answering all of these comments. Truck sounds pretty sick, too loud for me. I’m doing third cat delete and Y pipe to dual 4” tips. I still need to start it in a neighborhood
Glad you enjoyed the video man. I only deleted the cats because they were clogged up and I didn’t wanna pay to have them replaced but if I were to do it again I would leave the cats in.
@@Its_Melvsame man my cats are clogged up and it’s not worth the money it’s better to cut them and get a hot smog and my truck will be pushing about 370 after the cat delete
I drive a blue oval from the 90's and love everything about those old Fords. Though, there was a time I was in highschool and there was this mean green clapping machine 2001 2500hd that had the 6.0L in it. I drove it a couple times (because it was originally my dad's up until I got my license) and it had full straights and sounded like a big block. Loud as f--k, so loud it set off two car alarms at Wal-Mart when I pulled into a parking space real fast and came back to crank it after shopping for seafood. Miss that truck, he ended up selling it behind my back though (some father, am I right?)
@@Its_Melv when I got my exhaust done they used the stock pipe from the manifold to the cats then ran new pipe out the back I should of got my money back it was a shitty job

@@Its_Melv I originally had cat back true dual straights with 6' tips, then got the cats cut off so just true dual to 6s, but yea it claps if you got snapchat I'd send you a video
I want my 5.0 sounding like these chevys, it claps but nothing like them, the drive side claps like hell but the passenger side doesn't and I can cruise about 60 to 65 and it'll clap like hell, but I want it like the 5.3, any suggestions?
It’s called the Florida lean and to be honest if you are sitting in the back of the truck and you lean the tailgate it’s actually really comfortable to lean against
Brayden Bainbridge you open the tailgate about half way and loop the cables for the tailgate over the pins sticking out of your bed for the tailgate latch. I can make a video sometime soon on how to do it.
I'm doing this to my little regular cab 4.8, mostly done but I still need to get the pipes for it. Would you suggest having no muffler or a little glasspack or something? I'm honestly considering side exit too
@@leviraney3603 that is an idea for sure. Before I had true duals I had a single straight pipe and it was 2 1/2 and then 2 in the spots where the cats were I wonder how that would sound on true duals compared to same size all the way through.

I wonder how doing the piping the way you suggested would compare to have the same size all the way through on true duals. Also do you plan on keeping the 6” tips? If so what kind are they

Sorry for such a late reply. There was a guy local to me that ran all new pipe and installed it for $160 plus the tips which I had already bought but unfortunately he passed away a few weeks after that. A normal shop especially in these times would probably charge about $500-$600 for a fuel exhaust like this
Country Customs Racing I didn’t get mine tuned no but I would recommend it. I lost a lot of power and gas mileage without a tune. But a tune would help for sure
Its Melv ok because i got 6 inch tips on it right now with 2.5 catback true dual straight but the only way for me to take off my cats is with headers i got a 06 tahoe
Its Melv all the muffler shops i been to they said that they cant take it out because the dont have a good place to cut it and put pipe so they told me the best way would be is just to get headers
Evan Carter 2 1/4 would be allot louder but at the same time it’s gonna be sloth raspier and higher pitched. 2 3/4 would still be loud it’ll sound deeper have a better tone and the aire will flow better

Just keep up on the maintenance and check the front end and oil level regularly. I’d say check the only prolly once a week if not more because they are known the have rear main seal leaks on the engines and the front ends are known to be junk especially when you crank the keys so just leave the keys at stock height maybe crank them a little but never fully crank them and just keep a eye on your truck and if you feel like something don’t sound right or feel right make sure you check it out because a small noise that could be a 5 or 10 dollar part can leave you stranded on the side of the road and having to pay several hundred for a tow and parts
Yea it will still clap it just won’t be as loud. If I had to do it again I would I leave the cats in. It sounds better in my opinion the only really I took mine out was because they were clogged up and was making my truck run like crap.
Dank Tutorials I did 3” spindles, 3” coil spacers in the front and no blocks 2” drop shackles in the rear but if I did it again I would either do the 4” spindles with 3” coil spacers or a 6” Rough Country with a 2” lift spring in the front and no blocks and 2” drop shackles in the rear.
Dank Tutorials in a shop I’m not sure I did everything myself and it cost me less that $500 in parts for my setup a Rough Country lift is $1000 by itself plus the rest

Kovvak the drivers side pipe was ran over next to the passenger side pipe and then back over at the end and I think I got the tips from summit or amazon or eBay
i got true dual straights 2.5" pipe to 5" tips but it dont clap or nothing i wonder if its from exhaust leaks and 20 year old piping on my 99 roundbody. if i run brand new piping from manifold back would it sound like yours?
My 2000 has true duals cats only with 45° exit 3.5" tips and she claps and raps but still sounds clean. And if I stay outta the gas cops dont loom twice at me.
If it’s not tuned it’ll throw a check engine light and you’ll lose some power from lack of back pressure and it’ll be a lot louder. I prefer the sound of catback straights I only took my cats out cause they were clogged and making the truck run like crap and I didn’t feel like paying to have new ones put in
@@Its_Melv My 02 5.3 tahoe was running like shit w cats deleted both , got a FM40 series w side pipe and a 3" dual tip.....sounds mean asf still no tune shes running like a champ!!! Tryna go true duals tho
Bro what makes yours clap so much I just had 2 1/4 true dual straights ran with 5x18 tips and mine is nowhere near as loud or clap as much as yours I have no cats or anything
My state doesn’t have inspection thank god I couldn’t live in a state that requires inspection and won’t let you run wheels outside the wheel wells and stuff like that.
