5.3l Silverado w/ Mutha’ Thumpr Cam Shaft, AEM Cold Air Intake, Magnaflow Muffler 

Drivability is good. Vacuum is on the low side for brakes, so I may get a vacuum booster later on, but brakes are fine when driving (another option would be to install a hydroboost, but I’ve decided against it). Low end torque is good, but I really notice the power band pick up at about 2000RPM.

I also installed an AEM cold air intake and I use a magnaflow muffler.

I used a company called BlackBear Performance. They sent me a computer that I plug into my OBD-II port, I drive for 20min., send the file to them, they make adjustments, send the file back to me, and lastly I upload the file to my PCM. This gets repeated until no further testing is needed.

I did all the work myself with help from a friend. The cam is about $450 + tax. If you’re just doing a cam swap, and not on a time crunch but steadily working, I’d plan 3 days to get the job done. There were a lot of other expenses that went into getting the truck to sound like this, all that stuff in the description.

How much total. I would do the work myself. You definitely put new lifters in ad well ?

My idle is at 1000 RPM. Maybe I should upload a more recent video, because here my truck did have a slight misfire that’s since been corrected. How did you come to choose this Cam Shaft? I choose it at the recommendation of Black Bear Performance.

@@zachschweinsberg2601 1000? That isn’t to high? Mine idles on the stock tune between 600-700ish but it jumps pretty significantly high and low, but stock tune so I don’t know, yours might have more timing and yours is a 5.3 mines a 4.8 so they will react different. I chose this cam since it said on eBay you can use the stock converter and it has a good amount of chop and I did see that the shop that did your tuning is in Idaho as well as me but I’m down in mountain home and that’s a far drive for me, but yeah man you should post a new video of it running with the fixed misfire

@@AgE4M I’m in Ohio. Blackbear did all of my tuning remote. Maybe you’re opposed to remote work?

@@AgE4Mquestion.. how does your truck drive i did see you mention it didn’t need a converter? I have a stupid big cam that in opposed to installing due to having to swap out the converter
