Nathan Buckley started out at Brisbane, despite making it very clear that he didn't want to be there. He engineered a trade to Collingwood after 1 season, and Bris went on to win 3 flag without him and 2 against him!
That's karma. What about 2018 against West Coast in the granny. Poor Bucks lost it after a kick on the siren. Geez my heart bleeds 😅 Poor old Collingwood 😂😂😂
I never forgot when we signed Sam Mitchell. Bloke brought a culture to our midfield and then was instrumental up in the box for our flag . The second he departed we went downhill and fast . Bloody legend in my opinion
Most forgot Tony Modra spent 3 seasons in Fremantle after he missed both of Adelaide's back to back premierships with an ACL in a prelim and poor form returning from the ACL late in the season
Tim Watson was drafted by West Coast after he’d retired from Essendon in 1991. He didn’t play a game with the Eagles or even move west and recalls his most memorable moment was receiving a merchandise bag. 😂 He returned to Essendon in 1993 and won a third premiership. Something was afoot with the selection because West Coast hadn’t even entered discussions with Watson, so was it a move to block him from being redrafted in 1992?
I think most forget Brereton played not just for two but for three clubs. He’s always my go to example of how the “one club player” thing is overstated - nobody associates him with anyone other than Hawthorn.
Ben Cousins West Coast and Richmond Brendon Fevola Carlton and Brisbane Luke Hodge Hawthorn and Brisbane Steve Johnson Geelong and GWS Jack Crisp Brisbane and Collingwood Paul Licuria Sydney and Collingwood
Nice list! A few others ones that had stints at forgettable second clubs include Paul Chapman, James Kelly, Travis Cloke and Luke Power among many more.
