Do you like the mic'd up format?

like it, if you fix the audio 100% (some bits of the video the mic signal gets muted, idk why) it's gonna get even better.

Dowdy!!! I figure being mic'd is easier and I think it worked well for what you were doing here, but yeah you're usual style is more fun to watch.. thanks for all the stoke brotha!

I think my knee pads make bowl skating so much more fun. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried them. You have to force yourself to knee slide a few times and then it becomes automatic quickly. Instead of running out and trying not to step on my board or trip up, I'm sliding down having a fun time.
@SkateboarderOnTheInternet

I got knee pads for that reason lol
@Sean_neaS

One more thing. If you shoelaces are breaking put a bit more pressure on your toes so the laces are off the ground when you slide.

Agree. I haven’t been wearing my pads and I’m still new and I’ve crushed my back knee (regular stance) 4 times in a row so now it’s a must to keep me skating and confident

I can’t do any tricks on transition, I just carve and haul ass through the bowl and it’s super fun to me and great exercise! The 104a 60mm bones with Swiss bearings helps a lot too

so 78A must be too slippery, I noticed one day I felt like my setup lacked the right gripping balance
@DustinKeiser
@DustinKeiser Год назад
@@CtrainDJ I think 99a is a good middle ground, my park has really smooth concrete so you would think the really hard wheels would be slippery but for some reason they aren’t

@@jeffkendel1570 that’s what I have (spf) 84b which they say is equal to 104a. Still use spitfire f4 for street though the 97a are nice

@carlosnadal8048 78a will stick to wall like glue compared to 104a, but, the 104a will powerslide and maintain speed. 78a is slower and doesn't slide good.

"Getting comfortable with being uncomfortable" is a perfect phrase to sum up progressing at skating in general. The clipping was a little distracting, but the mic'd was really cool to hear you talking in the moment. Great tips. Cheers!

The slo mo trick is a good way to describe the new 8 foot bowl close by us on the border (NM)…we are used to skating tight 4-5 ft backyard and DIY stuff with coping that sticks out…the new 8 foot bowl has kinda “vert ramp trannies”…I think they are 7.5 or 8…there is brand new slippery steel coping too- so just even for slashes it DOES feel “calmer” slo mo is a good way to explain it. At first I was going super aggro at it…then I started going like “calm” and trying to just hang onto banana peel fs grinds. And then TOO slow and was kinda almost hanging up….went back the second time and it’s kinda “medium” to feel good on it. We all old down here so everyone says it’s better on the knees than our usual spots.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge! I learned how to drop in a month ago…and it was a real mental struggle. I actually use my hands to push off the wall to get me going fakie after dropping in and practice pumping. I haven’t figured out how to go fakie without doing that. Any suggestions? This past Monday I did a 6 foot drop in…I know it ain’t much, but I was very Stoked! You’re RAD! Thanks for the Videos!🤙🏽

I think I'm just going to drop in, I can skate 8 foot vert pipes but when it comes to the 5ft bowl it's definitely a different drop in. Bowls are more vertical then a quarter pipe

Is there a specific way to position your feet to drop in on bigger vert? I noticed you have your feet differently than how I would have mine. It’s more similair to Tony hawks drop in. My feet are generally very parrallel and I can take it to some bigger drops. Just wondering!

Honestly going into a bowl without a line is really dumb, watch some other peeps maybe jump in the bowl and feel it out ... Ect if you are new I have seen so many people get really hurt who dont have a plan and just drop in hit a wall straight on ect
@Yomanchamcru
@Yomanchamcru Год назад
To a point, and deffo if someone's 'good', but there's nothing wrong with feeling it out. I can think of some bowls that are so well made and thought through, that you really can just drop in and keep it cruisey. Then there's others where you have to watch the locals like a hawk if you want to avoid losing all your speed and trundling round the flat. And then sometimes there's the line I'd never have thought of, and I definitely wasn't aiming for, but actually it works - I guess I'm saying having a line to aim for is good but being flexible when it changes is even better.
@ZackDowdy
@ZackDowdy Год назад
Setting expectations can limit your growth, that's the overall concept. Don't focus so much on what you "want" and tune more into the natural flow.
