SCT rc style is where I am right now so this video was right on time. Plus your terms and slang you use are from my generation!!! Great video and keep them coming!!
Tires are a must and first for us. We recently made a backyard track that has loose dirt and we put on some Bandlands. It made our Pro2 SC10 handle better around the turns
Great video as always, all those upgrades prob makes Pro4 SC10 in the territory of a Slash 4x4 Ultimate RTR (price wise) 😄but as you mentioned, it'll be able to keep up with those modified Slash/Losi/Tekno. Such a great platform.
You know what though, you can upgrade it slowly. So you can put $200 in over time as you need or you can just buy a Slash Ultimate for 500 something and still might have to upgrade it.
Cool truck and upgrades ! For me the fastest «upgrade» around a track was going from a 4x4 senton to a 2wd slash. Yes the 2wd slash brake and accelerate slower on dirt, but this give better time to react. A 4x4 understeers alot making the corner wider, while with the 2wd you just «handbrake» close around the corner and off you go. It also teaches yo
its not a 4x4 that understeers its the senton. they suck for racing. my losi tenacity tt pro steers so much better and drives better than the senton. you may can mess with the senton diff oils to make it steer some what better but the steering physically doesnt move as far as the losi.
@@Runk3lsmcdougal not sure i dont have a pro4 but I would like to and its cheaper. Anything associated makes should be good. I have a rc10t4.3 and its great. I had to change the out drives on the tt pro to the scte out drives because they wear kinda fast but other than that it is a great sct.
Man I think you’ve convinced me to get an SCT I can run hard and put away wet. My Baja Reys, crawlers and Tamiya Touring cars are rigs I try to avoid bashing and more enjoy the hobby side with. 🤙🏼🏁 Thanks!!
hi 👋, very nice mod👍👍. for me the first mandatory upgrade for this pro4 is oil shocks, really better and perfect with 250 cst for all 4👌. nice vid like always😉, have a nice day✌
The sc10 2 wd was the best car to drive, powerful but smooth and big, a 1/10 big about as a 1/7. I restarted my rc hobby after 35 years and bought tamiya (like during those times), a losi 1/10 baja (very bad experience, burning tires, burning esc, loosing the lights at the first rollover, bought second set of tires which burned again....), and few other new brands that did not exist at the time. About the sc10, i must say that this car surprised me for the quality of the drive and performance with a brushed motor. However, when I wanted to check it for some maintanance I could not unscrew any part because I didn't have the right tools. Like Kyosho at the time, they had their own parts and tools. So I gave it away. if the brand of sc10 will change policy about that I will certainly buy it again and certainly brand new. That's a great drive.
You should look into the Dumborc X6 radios, they are superior to the flysky for bashing and racing vehicles being they have almost triple the range of a flysky and comes with gyro in the reciever aswell. All for about $45.
@@ukistudmuffin I'm not to sure, I know in my case they are very hit or miss when it comes to accuracy at range. Crawlers they work great, bashers I'd rather not take a chance of it darting left when I'm about to hit a jump (like my flysky did)
So, what I have noticed, especially with 2 of the 3 (so far) Spektrum motors for my Senton, they seize up quickly in dirt. Even when using an air compressor to clean out after runs. A buddy sold me a HW SCT motor, and it lasted awhile, but even that succumbed to seizing. Tried adding homemade guards between body and frame, and taping a hole in the bottom of the Senton frame floor. What is the best way to avoid it? I killed the first Spektrum motor after 10 days of having it, using it probably 5 of those 10 days.
Nice tips ,I have sct hobbywing ezrun max 10 3300kv motor 60a esc, running on 2s the combo system is capable of 4s ,but would have to upgrade stock parts on my ftx zorro,,as they would just melt like chocolate using 4s 😜🤪😜😅👍
Can you post links to your upgrades? I was hoping to see them in the description. I have a brushless 4x4 Rustler and Stampede, trying to see if I can get a little more control from them.
You did a great job! Thnank you for sharing all the details. In retrospect - if you would be picking another SCT vehicle with the intend to modify it to optimal performance - would you again start with the Pro4 SC10, or would you go with something else?
If one has a nice track, then maybe. But if like most people just bashing, racing in very loose conditions, 4WD makes the hobby way more enjoyable. And it will still be hard to handle until tires and other things are upgraded.
Thanks for the video - how much GREASE do you put in the rear diff? Do you fill it like as if it was fluid? Or half full? Line the diff cup? Thanks for advice...
I am noob, so this is very helpful. Thank you. Also, if you have time to reply, when you say you geared up, what does that mean? Did you change the pinion only? Or pinion and spur? And what configuration? I have a 3800KV Copperhead 10 from Castle Creations in my Pro4 and have no idea how to setup gearing change.
Thats a really noticable difference in all round performance on the track after the mods. What was the kv of the motor that you put in & what size pinion did you go to ? Great video man.
Got one of these and did the esc and motor upgrade and also the gt5 radio going to do the rear diff next. I also put badland tires on it. Thanks for the advice
With the upgrades how much have I spent overall?...I'm in the market and can't decide on the pro4 3s lipo combo @ $410 or just buy the team kit and all the fixings.
